Allanp: If you are painting the hull I'd recommend a two-part epoxy for durability. If it's the deck a one-part paint is durable enough, though you can use a two-parter there too. The reason I don't recommend a two-parter for the deck is the limitation in color choices with a two-part paint.

You often refer to 2-part and 1-part paint.  What exactly is this?  In fresh-water, with a trailerable FG boat that will not sit in water long, can I get away with oil-based paint on the hull and deck?  I read that I shouldn't need anti-fouling paint

leefromcanada: A two part paint is purchased from the store in two separate containers. Prior to use it is mixed together and must be applied in a certain amount of time before it hardens.

One part paint comes in one container.
