Help me name my software...
I'm near completion of my software which scans for duplicate files in a user selected folder or drive and gives a list of all the duplicate files and also allows you to permanently delete or move the duplicates to a user-defined folder...
i'm looking for an exciting name which fits with what the little software does... so I thought i'd ask the most creative bunch of individuals I know...
Hey...Thought lemme be the first one to answer..... Well, you may not find it that creative, but its just a try.... How about "Bust It" ?? Meaning - bust your duplicate files......
Put this on if you find it good.....or else just wait for others to answer...
Errrr....
Thinks for a bit....
Got it...
How about "Duped"......
DupDelete is what comes to my "creative" mind. I like that, "...the most creative bunch of individuals I know...."
If you haven't already found a name for it, what about "Segregate Dupes"? (As in, segregate duplicate files to the folder you specify...) It's not too exciting, but very descriptive. Or maybe "Segregate Your Dupes" or "Corral Your Dupes". People looking for this type of software will know what "dupe" means.
By the way, email me if you're done with your software or need a beta tester: it's exactly what I JUST now asked a question about: if anyone knew of software that did this bit-by-bit, rather than simply by comparing file names.
Good luck on your software adventure! Cheers!
thanks for the response ... i made it a while ago and i called it "Hash-em". hash is the pre-defined procedure to find duplicates. i know it doesn't clearly give the right picture but all good. i'm in the mid of a newer version. will send you a copy.
Thanks, arksys! I appreciate the copy of the software. Do you want feedback/bug reports if I find anything?
"Hash-em" is a perfect name, too!!
feedback/bug reports or any improvements or functionality you would like added ... just let me know and i'll get it done ... will be a great help. if its too much trouble then no probs at all. i'll send you an email as soon as its done (a few days).

As I read and try to learn about the internet, I keep running across people talking about content spinners. Isn't the content that they create considered duplicate content? Or not? Does anyone use them for any other applications? Are there good applications for them? I'm curious on what everyone...

I found out this morning that this site had stolen at least 2 of my hubs. The more I looked, the more I noticed that it appears every single post on the site is a stolen hub, completely copied in most cases (including the authors' names and copyright notes, ironically). I see lots of names of...
