Do you recycle?
We started recyling last year and just couldn't believe how much our household waste was reduced. A friend of mine runs the local landfill. He informed me that they now pay for most of their operation expenses through recycling. What are your thoughts? Do you recycle/reuse?
We recycle and reuse. It makes such a difference and in some cases has made me some money.
Indeed I do, in fact I drive my wife and kids crazy because I try to make sure that every little piece of paper or recyclable plastic, glass, or metal goes in its proper place. I hate when I go to the kitchen trash can and I find a cardboard box or a tin can tossed in there. My wife says I "overdo" it but I like to think that I'm making up for all the people who don't do at all.
We have been recycling for the past four years now, we also re-use anything that we can like milk jugs for Iced Tea and kool-aid, take can from veggies and since we have the can opener that doesn't leave jagged edges we was the cans out really good and than use them as cups in the summer when we go on hikes. I also use the metal cans to make a solar oven for outside cooking, the glass containers are used for various things including nails, screws and other items that can go into them.
Our paper waste we burn in the fireplace or get it wet and soak it over night to make other things out of it. Over the time we have been recycling we have seen our trash go from five bags a week to one or two.
Yes, I do. I've written some hubs how to recycle plastic bottles for some crafting activities.

I have often wondered this since recycling is so reported in the world as being important. Since visiting the local recycling drop off it seems few people actually recycle.

I was recently singing the praises of e-readers, saying how much paper they were saving. A friend looked at me and said, "You have got to be joking!" and explained how the amount of waste created by the...
