Focus on one keyword per page.
Make sure you underline, italicize, and bold your keywords at least once.
Have your keyword in your H1, H2 and H3 tags preferably at the front of each title.
Try to keep your keyword density from 1 to 3%, anymore and it may be considered keyword spam.
Have your keyword listed in your title.
I do hope these techniques help you out. There are also some great authors here on Hubpages that write some awesome must read SEO articles. Just do a search on the search bar on Seo and Hubpages.
Aim for 600 plus words.
Use images and videos.
Put your keyword in your outbound links.
Don't have too many ads on the page.

Try sending an email to HubPages staff direcently and explain your frustrations. I have found in the past they at least respond even if they don't give the results you wish for.The help wizard is how you do it.

I know very little about SEO. If you have hubs on niche sites, is it still important to have a knowledge of SEO? I get little love from Goggle.
