Why do we provide watchmen with watchman’s clocks?
Why can't we provide such clocks for monitoring other cadre of employees?
Trains began running across the United States before there were telephones and other sophisticated communications devices. So the conductors had to more precise watches so they keep the trains on schedule and safely on their way. These watches became known as railroad watches. During WWII civilian watch production was stopped. So the same watch companies used their expertise to make more precise watch clocks for the US Navy.

Why do they call the clock where you punch your time card called a "time" clock?Aren't all clocks "time" clocks?

The thought just occurred to me today: Why did Nature provide us with only one heart? Why did it not give us two? That way if one heart failed, we would have a second heart to back it up. It's like a engine on a plane....
