What is the best way to dispose of CDs?

I have a bunch that I need to get rid of, and somehow I feel like there's a better place for them than my trash bin.

You didn't mention the contents of the CD's, but why not sell them.

A lot of crafter use the for things like mini albums etc. I would try to sell them in bulk on Ebay first.  Might net you a few dollars.

Tie them on a piece of string to hang in rows in the vegetable patch to scare away birds.

I saw a great idea of making a mosaic picture frame or flower pot from CD's on Pinterest.

I save them for art projects with my cub scouts ... we put them in a sealed bag & break them with a hammer! The boys love doing that part! But don't smash 'em up too much, you still want to be able to handle the pieces with ease. Then depending on what holiday is closest, I get styrofoam shapes and hot glue gun the peices onto the shapes for a fun mosaic decoration! You could also mosiac an old coffee table using glue & grout to fill in the spaces!
