What is the difference between a Plasma TV and a LED TV?
Is one better or more reliable than the other?
Plasma TVs are lit by Phosphorous in the screen and don't need any backlighting, because the Phosphorous lights up itself (with a little help from a lot of integrated circuit technology). LED (light emitting diode) screen are usually backlit. Personally, I prefer LED TVs because I believe that the overall screen is brighter than Plasma; however, some plasma TVs automatically adjust the screen brightness based on how bright your room is. Also, an LED TV of the same size as a Plasma TV is lighter in weight, so easier to move around or mount if you want to mount it on a wall. I bought a Samsung 32" LED TV and I am very happy with it and I think if I bought another TV for another room, I would still go with a backlit LED TV.
