What is your opinion on the taxpayers spending money on broadband for the poor and rural areas?
Money will be deducted from business and the public's phone bills labeled universal service fund.
Money from tax should be used where it is needed most. To spend it on broadband for the poor and rural areas is necessary to improve the condition of the folks here. If the poor and rural areas have no reach to obtain knowledge, than knowledge must reach out to them hence the broadband. With due knowledge, these folks will have the power to redefine their lives and improve their situation.
The internet opens doors, provide income opportunities and information on how to live our lives better. This is taxpayers money well spent.
I have no issue with it. It keeps the Information Highway on a level playing field. The charges are ridiculously small when compared to the good it does for our society as a whole.
