How to get data from the .ost file?
Here's the deal, there is a file .ost, but neither Exchange, nor of the mailbox to which it was attached. Now in this file I need to get all the data ranging from emails with all attachments, to the calendar and deleted items folder. If the file attached to the new mailbox with a similar name, MS Outlook 2003 starts to swear that this file was created for another mailbox and accordingly nothing opens. Here in brief and all. Can anyone advise what to do?
An .ost file can be converted to a .pst file most used by Outlook. Usually an .ost file remains on the server it came from unless deleted. Anyway one source is go to ostfile.com
I think, that you don't spend a lot of time to bind this file to your new mailbox, you better take convert file .ost in .pst format and then MS Outlook 2003 will be able to find and read this file at once. Thus you will be able to restore and save all your data.
