Jam Out With JAMBOX and Jawbone

Updated on November 21, 2012

Simply the Leader in Personal Mobile Technology

Aliph is committed to creating personal technology products that deliver an unsurpassed user experience. The company's flagship product, the award-winning Jawbone Bluetooth headset, first disrupted the industry in 2006 with its military-grade NoiseAssassin technology and instantly became recognized as the best Bluetooth headset available. In 2010, Jawbone ICON becomes the company's most innovative Jawbone yet; introducing unmatched ease of use, personalization, sound quality and design into the consumer marketplace.

Co-founded by Alexander Asseily and Hosain Rahman, Aliph is a privately-held company headquartered in San Francisco.

I've had my JAMBOX for several months now. I have to say, it's the coolest electronic gadget I own. The sound is incredible, the portability is outstanding and everyone I run into wants to demo it. I get a ton of life out of the battery and can keep it in my coat pocket.

Honestly, if you have a need for portable sound, a JAMBOX is what you need to get.

BIGGEST SOUND, SMALLEST PACKAGE

JAMBOX delivers stunning hi-fi audio in a portable wireless speaker so compact you won't believe it when you hear it. It's loud. With an output capacity of 85 decibels, JAMBOX fills even the largest rooms. Unlike other portable speakers, JAMBOX is powered by a pair of proprietary, highly sophisticated acoustic drivers, unmatched in their ability to produce extreme high (tweeter) and low (woofer) frequencies from a single, ultra-small dome speaker. They work in concert with an innovative moving-wall passive bass radiator and airtight enclosure to deliver shimmering highs and thumping lows that you can literally feel - the richest sound all in the palm of your hand.

With JAMBOX, you'll feel the thump of every kick drum, the vroom of every car chase, and the roar of the crowd with every buzzer-beater--bringing all your mobile media vibrantly to life. And with up to 10 hours of continuous play, you can blast away all day long with plenty of charge to spare for whatever comes next.

Talk Responsibly

GET UPDATES ON CELL PHONE DRIVING LAWS IN YOUR STATE

Aliph believes that when using a mobile phone -- whether in the car, around the house or on the street -- it is extremely important to Talk Responsibly. No phone call is worth jeopardizing your safety or the safety of others.

It is always best to refrain from talking on the phone while you are driving. However, if you must do so, we believe the safest possible way to talk is by using a hands-free solution, such as a headset or a built-in speaker system.

Tips to Talk Responsibly:

Safe Driving = Smart Driving: No calling in the car is best, but when you absolutely have to make or take a call from behind the wheel, make sure you talk responsibly. Use a hands-free device and make sure it is turned on and synchronized with your phone before starting the ignition. Program important numbers and conference call pass codes into your phone in advance so you can keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.

Use Your Words: Many phones have voice-activated dialing and messaging built in. When you're on-the-go, use your voice to place phone calls and send text messages without looking at your phone. It's as easy as saying, "Call John Williams" or "Message Laura Smith".

Prep Your Phone: Enter all emergency numbers into your phone. It's important to know how to store and access phone numbers you might need in an emergency. Make sure you have your "In Case of Emergency" contacts stored in your phone before you hit the road.

Don't Engage in Phone Rage: Do not participate in stressful or emotional phone conversations while driving. If you are flustered, take a moment to stop and collect yourself before multi-tasking - focus on the drive, not the dispute.

Friend or Foe - Who's Your Neighbor?: Think twice about making business or personal calls in public places, like an airport, a bus, or a train. The person sitting next to you could know your boss or work for your biggest competitor. Keep confidential conversations confidential.

Phone (@) Home: Chopping while trying to balance your phone between your ear and your shoulder can be a tricky maneuver and, with a kitchen knife in hand, don't take any chances. Use a headset to free up both hands and eliminate the "phone-slipping-from-shoulder-into-a-boiling-pot-of-water" tragedy.

Hit the Books before Hitting the Road: In some states, drivers are required by law to use a hands-free device while on the phone. Save yourself a hefty fine by pulling over to make calls, or by using a hands-free solution while on the road. If you use a hands-free device, activate it before beginning your trip and be sure that its use does not interfere with your ability to hear warning signals inside and outside the vehicle. Read up on state-by-state laws regarding cell phone usage while driving here.

Don't be "That Guy" - Respect No Phone Zones: There are many places where using a phone is frowned upon and others where it is flat out forbidden. Many hospitals and clinic waiting rooms ask that patients and visitors not use cells phone. In places of worship, movie theaters, funerals and weddings, it is always necessary to turn your phone to silent or power it off entirely. If you absolutely have to make or take a call, quietly excuse yourself and step out before reaching for the phone.
