Why Buy a Powerful Laptop Cooler

For many people a standard laptop cooler can keep a laptop error free, and data safe.  However for those of us with gaming notebooks, or powerful design notebooks, you sometimes need a little bit more.  There are a wide range of powerful laptop coolers which provide an enhanced level of cooling, to keep even the hottest laptops at a reasonable temperature.

Laptop cooling for hot laptops can definitely be difficult, and the truth of the matter is that the basic internal laptop cooling of high powered laptops is rarely good enough to prevent hardware failure.

Buying a powerful laptop cooler can prevent data loss and hardware failure in the most powerful laptops.  But a powerful laptop cooler is not always the best choice.

If you do want to buy a laptop cooler, please remember that powerful laptop coolers tend to be a little more expensive and a little louder than other laptop coolers. If your laptop only overheats a little, then you may find a standard laptop cooler, or even a quiet laptop cooler might suit your needs a little more accurately.

What to Look For in a Powerful Laptop Cooler

When you want to buy a powerful laptop cooler you need to look at three main areas, price, reliability, and power. In most cases you will have to compromise a little on either price or reliability. Unfortunately the fans even on powerful laptop coolers have a shelf life, and will eventually begin to sound incredibly loud, or fail completely. The good news is that by spending a little bit more, you can find powerful laptop coolers which run fairly quietly, and can stay that way for years to come!

When you are looking to buy a powerful laptop cooler some important factors include the size and number of fans (A large fan is much quieter than two small fans) the material used in construction (Metal dissipates heat much more effectively than plastic) and the extra functions, such as USB pass through, fan control, and other useful features.

The Antec 200 Powerful Laptop Cooler

The Antec 200 powerful laptop cooler (pictured above) is one of the most commonly used powerful laptop coolers. It has a great cooling capacity, and even better, it comes at a fairly moderate price!

The downside of the Antec notebook cooler 200 is that it does have a plastic construction which does limit it's cooling efficiency. This is pretty much leveled out by it's high powered 200mm fan though!

The look of the Antec 200 powerful laptop cooler is a little futuristic, and it contains a blue LED backlight which some people may find a little brash. This can however easily be turned off!

Zalman NC3000 Powerful Notebook Cooler

The Zalman NC3000 is the latest laptop cooler from Zalman.  As well as being a powerful notebook cooler the Zalman NC3000 is also whisper quiet. With a huge 220mm fan, brushed aluminum construction, and over a thousand air holes, you should never suffer from an overheating laptop ever again!

As well as being a fantastic powerful laptop cooler the Zalman NC3000 also has some great additional features, including fan speed control, USB pass through (or a USB hub built in depending on the version you get) and an on/off switch!

The Zalman NC3000 is by far one of the best powerful laptop coolers in my opinion, the bad news is that it has a price tag which matches it's benefits!

NZXT Cryo LX Powerful Laptop Cooler

Where the Zalman laptop coolers win on functionality, the NZXT Cryo LX powerful laptop coolers win hands down on brute force cooling. You do not get many functions with the NZXT Cryo LX, nor do you get peace and quiet. But if you have an overheating gaming laptop, the NZXT Cryo LX will quite simply prevent your laptop from overheating, and keep your games running fast and smooth!

The NZXT Cryo LX really does not have the portability, or the functionality of other powerful laptop coolers, but for those who have serious laptop overheating problems, well, this will definitely solve them, with three high speed, high quality, 120mm fans and a strong aluminum construction.

What you do get with the NZXT Cryo LX is a four port USB Hub, and support for near enough any laptop size, even a 19 inch widescreen laptop.  This is one of the few 19 Inch laptop coolers available with this standard of quality!

Conclusion to Powerful Laptop Coolers

Finding the perfect powerful laptop cooler for your needs is not always easy. However one of these powerful laptop cooler brands will nearly always provide a fantastic laptop cooling accessory!

if you are unsure whether or not you really need a powerful laptop cooler, just feel the underside of your laptop after it has bene under heavy load for a few minutes, in some laptops it can near enough burn the skin from your hand, imagine what it is doing to your laptops internal components!
