Review of Kodak KLIC-8000 Compatible Battery

Updated on September 14, 2014

I inherited my father's Kodak Z712 Digital Camera when he past away several years ago. This was my father's first digital camera and one of his prized possessions.

The Kodak Z712 is an older digital camera with only 7.1 Mega Pixel capability but it still worked great. I use it in my basement workshop to photograph projects I am working on as I don't want to risk damage to my expensive Nikon D5100 camera.

The only problem was it that is was costly to replace the single use lithium battery required by this camera. I knew there had to be a less costly way to keep this camera in operation. On a hunch I searched Amazon using the search term "KLIC-8000" and came across this KLIC-8000 Compatible Rechargeable Lithium Ion battery made by manufacturer other than Kodak. At the time of purchase the cost of this battery was less than 10 dollars including shipping. I figured it was a good gamble so I placed the order on Amazon.

Please Note: This battery does not come with a charger, I just happen to already own a KLIC-8000 charger that came with another Kodak Camera.

My Experience

My KLIC-8000 Compatible Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery arrived in a couple days. It came in very basic packaging with simple charging instructions. I immediately placed it on the Kodak KLIC-8000 charger for a couple hours. Once fully charged I installed it in my Kodak Z712 camera and have been taking pictures ever since without issue.

I purchased this battery in early November, have taken over 50 pictures and several videos and have not charged it once!

Needless to say, I am very happy with this purchase as it has given new life to my father's old digital camera. I think my father would be proud that his prized digital camera was still being used.
