10 Beautiful Summer Vacations Ideas

Updated on May 30, 2013

Summer is just around the corner ladies and gentlemen, so it’s time to start thinking about your ideal vacation. Don’t forget it’s important to treat yourself after you’ve worked so hard all year long! Just imagine relaxing on a beach and letting all your stress melt away. Be sure to pack your sunscreen and designer swimsuits. Here we have provided some lovely tropical destinations for you to consider. Hopefully one of these places will peak your interest and inspire you to take a well-deserved trip!

Bangkok, Thailand

Thailand is my personal favorite getaway. The culture and atmosphere of the country is simply awe-inspiring. There are numerous temples and museums for you to visit, which is only a small reflection of their rich and historic nation. For you and your family there are various excursions for every water lover such as scuba diving, parasailing, jet skiing, and banana boat rides. However, what I will always remember most from my trip are the people. The natives are incredibly nice and will always greet you, pass compliments, or help you find your way. Also, for those of you who like to eat spicy, this is definitely the place. Street food is everywhere, and in some parts it is available 24 hours a day.

Bora Bora

Bora Bora is one of the most beautiful islands in the world! Located in the South Pacific, this island is surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and barrier reef. Bora Bora is a picturesque tropical paradise with its white sandy beaches and thatch huts stretching out into the ocean. Be sure to check out its exquisite underwater activities like snorkeling and scuba diving. For those of us who love the thrill, Bora Bora also gives you the chance to swim with sharks along its deep blue shores. These islands are also nicknamed “The Romantic Islands” because of how popular it is among honeymooners. Just picture you and your loved one relaxing on Matira Beach with a cool drink and watching the sunset.

Cape Town, South Africa

South Africa may be known for its wildlife and safaris, but the country has greatly evolved to offer many upscale hotels and amenities comparable to the top resorts around the country. Cape Town has plenty to offer, like fine food and wine, luxury golf courses, and traditional dance shows. The One&Only Cape Town Resort is just one of the finest places you could stay at that offers excellent service and room accommodations. Many hotels have incredible infinity pools and even offer surfing lessons for those who love the water.

Galapagos Islands

Located off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos is truly an exotic getaway. The islands are populated with numerous tortoises, whale sharks, wild birds, and other wildlife that most of us don’t have the privilege to see every day. The Galapagos is perfect for nature and science lovers who want to explore and learn about the beautiful island; this is where Charles Darwin began to form his famous Theory of Natural Selection. This trip will not feel like a typical tropical vacation, but it will still offer spectacular views and beaches.

Sardinia, Italy

Italy is the perfect place to go if you desire a romantic touch to your vacation. The coastal city of Sardinia provides you with breath taking views of sparkling seas and deep blue skies. This is the city to visit for the most natural and beautiful beaches in Europe. I highly recommend the Cala Luna beach. It’s a beautiful 700 meter long half-moon crescent with six small caves reachable by boat. It offers just the right amount of privacy for anyone who wants a little “me” time in their vacation.

Sydney, Australia

Australia is a wonderful place for people who don’t want to go through a major culture shock or deal with a foreign language. This is the home to the spectacular Sydney Opera House, the Royal Botanic Gardens, and Sydney Tower Eye. Sydney has over 100 beaches, including the world famous Bondi Beach, where you can do practically any water activity imaginable. Some of their beaches will be totally different from what you would typically imagine. It offers unique ocean-swimming pools, stunning harbor coves, and amazing surf beaches.

Bali, Indonesia

Bali is rightly known as the Island of the Gods. The land features breathtaking views of mountains, hills, coastlines, and pristine beaches. Their culture is truly unique because they are deeply spiritual and place a lot of emphasis on their historical and archaeological past. Bali offers an incredibly broad range of accommodations for different markets of visitors. It offers world-class surfing and diving, but also affordable attractions for everyone to enjoy, like cultural shows and festivals. Don’t forget that the local cuisine of Bali is also a must try. This is the most visitor-friendly island of Indonesia, so feel free to talk with the natives and try something new!

Costa Rica

This country offers wonderful opportunities to experience the natural world. Located in Central America, Costa Rica is a beautiful destination to hike in the jungle, relax on white sandy beaches, go deep-sea fishing, or simply bird watch. The land is totally eco-friendly. The country places a lot of emphasis on conservation of the land and animals. There are tons of lush rain forests, national parks, and volcanoes to explore. One of my personal favorite attractions is the Baldi Hot Springs. This place has everything from water slides, saunas, wet bars, Jacuzzis, and 25 different pools!

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The UAE is known for being a leader in luxury. Dubai houses the world’s largest shopping mall, the world’s tallest building, the five-star Jumeirah Beach Hotel, and the thrilling Wild Wadi Water Park. You’ll have the time of your life immersing yourself in this state of the art city. You’ll definitely spend a pretty penny, but it’ll be worth it. The Jebel Ali Beach Resort is also located here, and has won numerous awards for being 2012’s leading family resort and the Middle East’s Best Family Resort.

Miami, Florida, USA

Miami is the classic summer destination because our beaches accommodate a variety of crowds. If you want people watch and be part of the scene, South Beach is spot. You’ll definitely see the masses of tanning people, luxury cars, and fancy hotels that hundreds of magazines and movies have featured. And if you’re the type of person who desires a more peaceful area, then simple head north along the shore until you find a quiet spot that suits you. For anyone who isn’t much of a beach goer, then shopping could be a perfect substitute. Our famous Dadeland Mall offers a wide variety of stores to choose from, while Dolphin Mall is filled with great outlet stores for you to shop 'till you drop! Also for you sports lovers out there, our Miami Heat games are definitely something to check out during the season!
