Adventure In Singapore
Exploring Singapore
Are you thinking of seeking out adventure in Singapore but not sure if it is an affordable trip for you to make ?
We were told by quite a few that Singapore is an expensive place to visit and I was concerned as I had already booked our tickets for a 10 day stay in Singapore so decided we would just make the most of it .
However there was no need for concern as much to our surprise we found that Singapore was affordable for our budget as well as being a lot cheaper than expected .
We have found dining out especially cheap yet still very tasty from the Garlic Naan right through to the main courses of Roast Duck - curries etc in Little India as well as in Chinatown and there was plenty of choice for everyone .
There was adventure in Singapore to be found on Santosa Island with the Lube ride as well as in Universal Studios .Water Slides and much more .
We found Little India to be a hive of activity from the moment we arrived late at night . It didn't take us long after putting our bags in the room to get back downstairs and start exploring !

Transport From Singapore Airport
There are a few ways to get from Singapore Airport to your accommodation such as Buses- The Train- Taxi .
However we found the Airport Shuttle at $9 a person a great bargain. It is easy to find as you walk through the gate after collecting your luggage .
We also booked the shuttle for the return trip & they turned up a few minutes early so be ready to leave !
We priced the taxi from Little India & was quoted about $35 if the traffic was running smoothly .
Cheap Accomodation in Singapore
An economical place to stay apart from hostels is Arianna Hotel on Syed Alwi Road In Little India . There are many benefits to staying at this hotel.
Many restaurants and food courts very close by at low prices for meals.
24 Hour shopping across the road.
Hop on /Off Bus + other buses a few minutes walk.
Train Station close by .
A walk away from Arab Road and other interesting sites nearby.
Lower cost with friendly staff.
Fridge + Jug
Tea /Coffee provided .
Air Conditioning
En suite
The rooms are small however we spend most of the time out sightseeing anyway !
Boat Cruise Singapore
Visiting the Islands
Singapore is a hive of activity so it is really pleasant to head over to Marina Sands Bay and take a boat ride out to St Johns Island previously known as Pulau Sakijang Bendera, located approximately 6.5 km to the south of the main island of Singapore. We were met there by a cat + chickens on our 1/2 hour visit .
You can enjoy a stay on this Island as there are several bungalow chalets and also bunks that can accommodate up to 60 people available .
It used to be a quarantine station for cholera cases in the late 19th century.
The other Island where we enjoyed a swim was Kusu Island . There is a popular chinese temple on the Island .
To get to the Marina you take the train to Marina Bay Station then catch the 401 0r 402 bus to the pier.
While waiting for the ferry be sure to take a look at the Museum upstairs .
