Virginia beach is well maintained with all the amenities available. The umbrellas, chairs, surfboards and many other things could be rented easily for enjoyment during your beach visit.       I was surprised to see Colonial Beach on this list and listed as a good place for swimming. The "beach" is a painful pebble patch. Really difficult to walk on without some sort of foot coverings. Probably good for fishing and boating, but for swimming, it doesn't belong on a best beach list.
