The Stari Grad in Hvar, is one of the oldest towns in Europe, in 384 BC the ancient Greeks founded the colony of Pharos. In Hvar you will find remnants of this rich history; stone streets and ancient architecture from that era can be found in Hvar.

Visit the Hvar Theater which was founded in 1612 and the beautiful Cathedral of St. Stephen which was build on the remains of an older church that was build around the 6th-century.

If you would like to go to an island just for the sun, clear turquoise Caribbean sea and white sands, Ambergris Caye is the place to go. It is the largest island in Belize, about 40 km long and 1.6 km wide. The Ambergris Caye has the second largest barrier reef in the world, running a close second to Australia's Great Barrier Reef.


In Pre Columbian times, a Mayan community lived on the island; if you are in the area, do not forget to have a peek at the Marco Gonzalez Maya Site.

San Pedro Town is the main settlement on the island and that is where most tourists stay, there are also a number of quaint little villages and modern resorts scattered around the island.


The main mode of transport in Ambergris Caye, is golf carts and bicycles. Ambergris Caye is a place to relax, there is no need to pack a lot of clothes, all you will need here is, beach wear, swim suits and sunblock.

Visit the 52 foot high Kilauea lighthouse, built in 1913. The view from the lighthouse is fantastic, while there, check out the Waimea Canyon, which has been described as The Grand Canyon of the Pacific, even though it is not as large as the Arizona Grand Canyon. Waimea Canyon is 1mile wide, about 900m deep and is located on the west side of the island, a must visit attraction on the island.

Kauai is the destination of choice for those who enjoy nature, throw in the local legends about sleeping giants (Nounou Mountain) and roaring giant lizards (spouting horn) and you end up with a magical vacation.
