Camping in West Virginia Mountains

Updated on June 17, 2011

It is one of those things that happens when your doing some research on a topic that you discover something awesome along the way. And so it was when I was investigating Mountain top Removal Mining  mining here  I discovered the beauty of the west Virginia Mountains that John Denver used to croon about in those famous ballads.

West Virginia is one of those places that should be included in one of those books 100 things I should do before I die. Look It might well be. Maybe I will just go down to the bookstore and check out if its in there. In the meantime for those of you that want to do something different. Something adventurous. Then why not take a vacation in the West Virginia Mountain?

Before you start yo need to consider a number of things.

Firstly if you go The Official Website of the West Virginia State Parks and Forrest here.

Summer is a great time to visit the West Virginia Mountain Highlands.

Spring and early summer rains transform the forests and mountains into a lush, green wonderland of outdoor recreation options. This is a great time to walk and hike the national forest, or play on the rocks of Seneca. And the fishing couldn't be better!
