Favorite Burgers in Mobile, AL: 3 Local Restaurants
Do you have a hankering for a thick, juicy cheeseburger? If you're in Mobile, Alabama there are a number of great places to get a great burger. Here are a few of my favorite local burger spots!
3 Favorite Mobile, AL Burger Restaurants
1. Butch Cassidy's
Butch Cassidy's is a great restaurant/bar located in Midtown Mobile. It's an excellent choice for lunch or dinner, especially if you're hungry for a thick, fresh burger.
There are a number of great burger choices on the menu, starting with the restaurant's "Soon to Be Famous" Butch Burger. This burger comes fully dressed with bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, mustard, mayonnaise, and pickles. If you'd rather do without the bacon and cheese, you'll want to order the Wild West Burger instead.
Not all of the burgers at Butch Cassidy's are served on hamburger buns. The Calamity Jane Patty Melt is a beef patty, grilled onions, and cheddar cheese on grilled rye bread The Jesse James Sourdough Burger features a burger patty, grilled onions, and mustard on grilled sour dough bread.
Each burger is served with French fries or coleslaw. For a small additional fee, you can get onion rings for your side dish. If you are a fan of onion rings, you'll love the ones served here!
Great Mobile, AL Burger Restaurants
Callaghans Irish Social Club
Heroes Sports Bar & Grille
2. Callaghan's Irish Social Club
Callaghan's Irish Social Club is a terrific pub located in Mobile, AL's Oakleigh Garden District. The spot is a favorite for locals every day of the week. It's a great spot to enjoy a cold pint or any other spirit beverage that you want, as well as a great meal. Callaghan's frequently features live music as well as providing great food and beverages in a terrific atmosphere.
The restaurant doesn't have an extensive menu, but every available item tastes great. Callaghan's has two burger options: a thick, juicy hamburger served fully dressed and on a bun and a patty melt. Both of them are large, freshly prepared, and delicious.
Callaghan's doesn't serve French Fries. Instead, you can choose your side dish from the following: potato chips, cucumber/tomato salad (my favorite), pasta salad, potato salad, and coleslaw.
If you're in the mood for dessert, try Callaghan's bread pudding. It's served in a huge chunk that is definitely large enough to share.
3. Heroes Sports Bar and Grille
Located in Downtown Mobile, Heroes Sports Bar and Grille is a great spot to enjoy a super burger and cold beverage when you're visiting the Port City. Whether you're looking for a weekday or weekend lunch spot, a place to enjoy a meal and a few drinks in the evening, or great a place to kick back and watch the big game, Heroes is an excellent choice.
The restaurant features indoor table and bar seating as well as outdoor patio and deck dining. There are also many large, high quality televisions throughout the establishment.
The appeal of Heroes doesn't stop with the atmosphere. The food is delicious. The menu is exactly what you'd expect to find in a sports bar, especially if you're looking for a great burger. The restaurant's signature burger is The Hero Burger, which is a half pound grilled Black Angus beef hamburger served with lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayonnaise on a Kaiser roll. Heroes also offers a Chili Cheeseburger and a Major League Melt, which is a patty melt served in two large slices of Texas toast.
You can also add a variety of toppings to your burger at Heroes for an additional charge. Cheese choices include American, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Provolone, Smoked Cheddar, and Swiss. Additional topping choices include bacon, jalapeno peppers, mushrooms, sour cream, and even gravy.
Each burger comes with two side orders. You can choose from baked beans, coleslaw, French fries, pasta salad and potato salad. Onion rings are also available for an additional charge.
