Indonesia Bali ~ 3 days Itinerary

Updated on June 25, 2013

About Bali

Bali – a part of Indonesia which itself means “offering” and it has been known for as “Island of the Gods”. Out of the 2.8 million total populations over at Bali, two million of them are Hindus who live and breathe their faith 24 hours a day.

Tourism

Tourist which is about 1.2 million a year flocks to this islands trying to witness the non-western, uninhibited Hindu Culture which is Bali’s Charm.

As for me, I flock over there to relax myself from the hectic work-life that we faced in Singapore. Over there, we get to enjoy the beaches, food and most importantly Spa/Massage. In this hub, I will talk about my 3 day itinerary over at Bali and hope it will be able to help you up if you going to plan one over there.

Choosing a Nice Hotel Stay

Grand Mega Resort & Spa Bali

Location:Jl. Bypass Ngurah Rai No.234, Simpang Siur, Kuta, Kuta Bali Indonesia 80631

After you landed on Ngurah Rai International Airport, you might wish to travel to this hotel on a 20 minutes’ drive. This is a very nice hotel and as informed by one of the taxi driver, it is a rather new one too. It is strategically located outside the main tourist area yet not far from it. One particular interesting part of this hotel is that the toilet is as big as it sleeping space. I guess they catered to some of the major criteria that a tourist is looking for in a hotel which is sleeping space and bathing facilities. They also provide nice buffet breakfast for their guest which does not come very expensive. As for the facilities, like most hotels, it has gym and swimming pool. However, there is just one problem with the hotels which is that the wireless network provided by the hotel is weak when you are in the room as compare to the lobby. So if you are looking for a hotel to chill in the room without internet access, this will be one hotel that I would recommend.

Day 1

From the hotel, it is of walking distance to the tourist attraction area - Kartika. If you are in need of any gift for your friends or shirts/souvenir for yourself, be sure to grab some here. However you must make sure you bargain for a good price as the price that they quote are normally overly high.

After you are done with your shopping, it is time for you to prepare yourself for your local tour on Day 2. There are numerous vendors on the road selling you packages’ deal. You must take note that the price that they quoted is always negotiable. A standard guideline is perhaps to cut their price by half then end with some prices around that range.

One of the vendors that I have visited is “Kuta Centre tour” which is next to paradiso hotel in front of Stadium café at Karitika plaza Street. Let me introduce to you some of the deal that they have and you might wish to go through them before your trip.

Day2

I have taken up Kintamani Tour at a price of RP. 350,000 however I choose to skip some part of the package like Ubud Monkey Forest due to time constraint on that day itself.

We woke in the early morning at 6am to have a good bathe and breakfast before meeting the driver at 8.30am.

First stop will be at the Barong & Kris Dance stage where we get to immerse ourselves at the Barong Play representing an eternal fight between good and evil spirits.

Tirta Empuk Temple

Next we enter some religious area, the Tirta Empuk Temple. The legendary pond inside the inner courtyard at Tirta Empul temple is said to have magical healing powers therefore we see many people getting wash in the splashing water. It is said that the water cleanses them of their worries.

Over there, they show us around their mini coffee and tea plantation before letting us to sit down and have a free coffee & tea drinking session. After drinking, most likely you might want to grab some of the coffee or tea back to your country. But be warned, the price sold here is a bit higher than the market price. I got myself 4 different type of coffee/tea at 100g. Ginseng Coffee @ 60,000 Lemon Grass tea @ 60,000 Bali Cocoa @ 60,000 and Arabika @ 45,000.

Potato Club
Potato Club

After a one day tour, you might wish to end your day with some fine dining. Potato Head Beach club has been famous for its fine dining menu mixing in a view of the beach and sea. It is not very far away from your hotel and most likely you will be there in about 30 minutes in a taxi.

Eden Hotel

New Hotel stay

Eden Hotel & Resorts

Location:Jl. Kartika Plaza 42, Kuta, Bali , Indonesia

To cater for the last day activity, I will like to recommend this particular hotel as it is located at the core central of the tourist zone. And importantly it is within distance from the beach. The interesting part of this hotel is that it is a rather cheap hotel stay even though you are at the tourist zone. From here to our activities will be only approximately 5min walk.

Water Bom
Water Bom

Day3

Waterbom Bali, Bali best water Park, is home to more than 20 world class waterslides and leisure facilities for all ages. It is Located in the heart of Kuta, Waterbom Bali is literally an oasis surrounded by tropical Bali gardens. Discovery Mall
Discovery Mall

After a day under the hot sun in the water park, it is time to move to an air conditioning enclosed area. This will be the Discovery Mall opposite to the park.

This mall is adequate in size with plenty of shops and restaurants. It is a great place to shop under air conditioned conditions and it has nice beach front for walks and sunset viewing. If you forget any gifts for your friends, this will be a good chance to get some for them.

Home Sweet Home

From the hotel to the airport, it is only 10 minutes’ drive, but be sure to check on the price of the taxi fare to the airport otherwise the driver might quote you a price that you couldn’t believe in. You could also get the hotel staff to call for a taxi at no additional charges.
