How Insurance Agents & Travel Agents Can Earn Extra Income

Updated on November 5, 2012

Tough Times Necessitate Finding Creative Ways to Earn Income

Many of us have felt the effects of a rather sluggish economy and are seeking ways to reduce bills and overall cost of living. Others are looking for opportunities to earn more money. I thought writing about a program I researched would be helpful to anyone already in the travel or insurance industries.

Not to bore you...

I don't want to get too deep into the details of the affiliate program, but rather, just inform insurance & travel agents (and any of their acquaintances who may read this hub!) of this opportunity. I have researched them, and found them a strong company. I have recommended the program to a handful of friends already in the travel industry. The next two excerpts tell a little more about the opportunity for licensed travel agents and licensed insurance agents.

This past summer saw significant increase in travel from the US to other countries.

International Travel Has Increased

From a recent article: According to the United States International Trade Administration’s Office of Travel and Tourism Industries, travel from US citizens to other countries increased 11% year-to-date as of June 2010 compared to June 2009. While actual numbers are not available for year-to-date growth, for the month of June “U.S. outbound non-stop air passenger traffic totaled 4.4 million in June 2010, increasing 11 percent compared to June 2009 and registering the sixth month over month increase since December 2009. All outbound markets posted increases in passenger departures. Six of the eight overseas regions experienced double digit growth rates. U.S. air departures to Mexico also registered double-digit growth. Oceania and the Middle East region experienced the strongest growth at 34 and 24 percent, respectively.”

Visa Requirements & Established Relationships

Most countries' visa requirements include travel insurance. When considering the above report, there are millions of travel insurance policies written monthly. One travel insurance company thought it would be mutually beneficial to offer an affiliate program to licensed insurance agents and licensed travel agents, who are in relationship with the people who travel. The thought process of Daryl C. Trawick, founder and president of Trawick International (an insurance and financial solutions company) was that most people are more comfortable transacting with acquaintances and/or colleagues. By offering Trawick's international travel policies to licensed agents, the agents can benefit monetarily from offering the product to their clients, and the clients gain peace of mind. I've researched Trawick international and discovered they are a solid company. If you want to learn more about Trawick International's offer, please visit their site: www.TrawickInternational.com and look for the link to the "Affiliate" or "Agent" page.
