Updated on December 3, 2010

Mount Pleasant Pier

The Mount Pleasant Pier is part of the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. It's just over the Cooper River Bridge from Charleston, South Carolina. Patriots Point is part of the large park area. You can get from the "Pier" to the USS Yorktown without getting on major roads. It's very easy and safe to do by bicycle.

Wonders Way

Wonders Way-Ravenel Bridge-Hwy. 17-Cooper River

By all means ride across the Cooper River from Charleston by way of Wonders Way on your bicycle or you can walk. You can see the USS Yorktown and Patriots Point to the right as you're crossing the beautiful bridge. After crossing the River turn right as you exit the bridge and continue making right turns as you go underneath the bridge and you are now at the Mount Pleasant Pier.

You can drive Highway 17 as well. Stay in the right lane and first chance you get make right turns and you're there by auto. If you cross the bridge and make the first hard right turn and then continue straight ahead you will wind up at Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown.
