Pyramid Hotel and Resort Review
If you happen to travel to Debre Zeyit, Ethiopia, Africa and you are looking for some time away or a break from the work you have been doing there (or for a chance at a better internet connection), my favorite little go-to spot was at Pyramid Hotel and Resorts. The resort has an amazing crater lake view where you can dine, talk with friends, or spend time with Jesus watching the birds fly as the sun sets over the African horizon. I had some amazing time there. The staff are friendly and the service at the hotel's restaurant is good however you may have to remind them to bring you your ticket when you are ready to go as it gets fairly busy especially on the weekends.
When dining at the resort, I recommend the Penerni Meat Pizza, a pizza in the shape of a canoe with a combination of meat, cheese, tomato paste, olives, and egg. You have to make sure you have the green chili to go with it to add a little spice to your life as well as a bottle of Ethiopia's finest soda Mirinda, Fanta Ananas (Pineapple Fanta), or flavored Ambo (flavored water usually in apple or pineapple flavors) if available. The restaurant serves a variety of Ethiopian traditional dishes of which I suggest Tibs which is pieces of pork tenderloin served on top of injera.
I loved it because they were so friendly and allowed visitors to hang out in the lobby in order to connect to the internet as a means to communicate as you are overseas. The lobby is a cozy space with sofa seating and a television so as to be able to watch the world news. One can also shine their shoes and get the dust off their feet in their self serve machine located near the entrance and exit of the hotel lobby. I really miss my time I got to spend with Jesus there and for the rare occasion of me time there on the weekend, and when I go back I know I will be hanging out and dining there again for sure.
