It is a traditional and quiet resort that dates back to the Victorian Era. It is a favorite destination for Golfers with its internationally recognized Links courses.
At its North end is Blackpool airport and the location where Pontin's used to have one of its best camps. The Old links and nature reserve are also located to the North of the Town. The town center has also seen change over the years with a full re-development of the shopping area happening in recent times.
