I found this quite interesting because I love eco touring and this is considered one. I love fresh air and the beautiful scenery. The Boseong green tea plantation is definitely has a gorgeous scenery. The name Boseong according to wikipedia, was given during the Unified Silla.

Boseong is just an hour and about 20 minutes drive from the metropolitan city of Gwangju, and if you travel from Seoul, it's about six hours. The green tea plantation is so beautiful and neat. The best time to visit is around May and June.

The landscape is amazing. You may feel relax and comfortable when you enjoy the beautiful cedar trees at the entrance of the plantation. The shape of the tea bushes that rising in regular curves are great.

How to get there :

Tourists can choose between two main routes from Seoul to Boseong. By train and by bus. Of course you may drive your own.

By train and bus, take the KTX from Seoul to Gwangju about 3 hours. Once in Gwangju, go to the Gwangju Bus Terminal and take an intercity bus headed for Boseong, about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

After you arrive at Boseong Bus Terminal, take a bus headed for the Green Tea Plantation and Yulpo about 10-15 minutes ride.

There is also an express bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal that is headed to Boseong. about 5 hour drive.

If you like green tea and fresh air, you may visit there someday. It's really a satisfying place and you may take your family there.

This green tea plantation is also become many Korean dramas location, also the filming locations of commercials. There are many gorgeous spots to visit, like :

The green tea fields are the most gorgeous and the tea trees blanket the landscape like a soft green carpet, creating some of the most picturesque views. Like in Korean "Summer Scent" drama.

Also don't forget the cedar trees line, the perfect lines of 20-meter high cedar trees that already has a romantic setting.

And truly the best tea. I had the pleasure of living in Seoul over a 4 year period and received so much wonderful tea from Boseong - and enjoyed the tea at a traditional tea ceremony. Just so lovely.

It is a super fresh, crisp, mild, clean, excellent tea. I can't say enough good things about the tea - or even S. Korea. Some of my best years were spent in S. Korea - enjoying the food and the people - and a very high standard of living - and one of the best massive subway systems in the world. Super.

I miss everything about S. Korea - but fortunately I keep in touch with friends and some have come to NYC to visit.

And fortunately I know where Korean markets are to buy the tea.

Thanks for a wonderful hub. Rated UP - for sure!

This reminds me so much of the tea growing area in South Africa which is in Limpopo Province, a place called Tzaneen. Thanks for sharing about this wonderful festival.

      Love and peace
