 Sweden, often missed by tourists visiting France or Italy, is filled with great attractions, lakes, forests, mountains, meadows, fun things to do in Sweden including museums, zoos, theme arks, resorts and castles. Sweden is located between Finland and Norway and a must see country for people visiting Europe. The Stockholm area alone has 10 royal castles and many world class museums. Two other major cities in Sweden are Gothenburg and Malmo. Both cities have beautiful tree-lined streets, great restaurants serving delicious swedish food, museums, shopping avenues, nightblubs and much more. Sweden is much better than many other nations on earth with highest wages and the best standard of living in Europe.

Gamla stan, aka Old Town neighborhood in Stockholm, is one of the best tourist attractions in Sweden as the historical charm of this place is so appealing to all visitors. The area dates to the 13th century, and is home to the Stock Exchange Building. The collection of archaeological objects, fine arts, handicrafts from China, Japan, Korea and India form one of the finest museums in the world. The major shopping street in Gamla Stan is the narrow Vasterlanggatan, where only pedestrians are allowed,  has many artisan galleries, souvenir shops, and antique stores.

This is the world famous Swedish glassworks that has 11 glassworks, each with its own image and its own atmosphere. People visit Sweden just to shop for glass. You can find some of the world's most prestigious glassmakers like Kosta Boda and Orrefors showcasing their work. Skilled craftsmen entertain the tourists with glass being blown and crystal being etched right in front of your eyes making it one of the top things to do in Sweden.

Northern Lights from Arctic Sweden

 From early evening to midnight, you can view the awesome phenomenon of the northern lights in most clear nights in the northern part of Sweden called Lapland or Norrbotten. This extreme, world-famous light phenomena, attracts travelers from all around the world. The concepts of ‘day’ and ‘night’ become blurred, with nighttime being just a dimmer version of daytime. The light of the Midnight Sun gives the landscape a magical dimension making it another must do thing to do in Sweden. Hiking in the mountains of Lapland during this remarkable period and a rare adventure that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
