Top 5 Favourite Cities I've Travelled To
Florence, Italy: Amazingly Beautiful!
Florence is stunningly beautiful, both in the day and night. In fact, I would definitely recommend using Florence as a base to visit other nearby places such as Pisa or Sienna. Due to its heritage status, most parts of the city are only restricted to pedestrian access. Take a leisurely stroll and explore the beautiful city. Cross the bridge and you will see another different view of Florence. Besides the beautiful architecture, the beauty also continues on indoors as there is countless art work and sculptures in the museums here.
Wild Koala Spotted Near Great Ocean Road
Melbourne, Australia: There is Always Something to Do
After visiting Perth, I finally visited Melbourne in May 2012. The weather was cool as it was close to winter. During my visit, one of the highlights was our one day trip out to the Great Ocean Road. The scenery is truly amazing and I would advise you to pay a visit to this natural attraction as soon as possible before it disappears. On another short trip out of Melbourne, we also visited Ballarat where Sovereign Hill is located. Here we learnt about the history of this former gold mine and had a chance to try digging for gold! Within Melbourne city itself, there is also lots to do such as shopping, visiting the Greek and Italian precincts, Chinatown and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
Delicious Food at Tsui Wah, Hong Kong
Hong Kong: Always Alive With Activity
Similar to Singapore, Hong Kong is also a fast paced city with a great public transport network. Here, there is always lots going on even late in the night. For the foodies, there is great Cantonese cuisine and of course, the famous Hong Kong dim sum to try. For shopaholics, shop to your heart's delight at the various markets and shopping malls.
For the whole family, head to Asia's second Disneyland or Ocean Park. For a more relaxing time, head to the suburbs or outlying islands. Hong Kong has lots to do and will be a great destination for almost everyone.
Floating Market Near Bangkok
Bangkok, Thailand: Full of Culture and Sanuk
Sanuk is the Thai word for fun. And indeed, Bangkok offers lots of fun. For those who are interested to learn more about its history and culture, must visits include the Grand Palace and temples like Wat Po. For those whose idea of fun includes shopping, Bangkok is definitely a great choice. It offers many shopping malls located in the Pratunam area and various markets with lots of bargains. The largest of these would be Chatuchak Market which is only open on weekends.
For the foodies, go crazy trying out Bangkok's street food. Eat delicious pad thai with its crispy nuts sprinkled onto the noodles, and the hot and spicy tom yum. Yummy! And for those seeking relaxation, book yourself a spa and massage session. They are very affordable. And to those who are night owls, check out the exciting nightlife.
Paris, France: Unforgettable City of Lights
During my first trip to Europe, Paris was one of my stops. Everything here is fascinating to a first time visitor like me. It is fun just to watch the locals walking about in classic Paris fashion. For me, Paris also has some of the best museums ever. A few hours is definitely not enough to truly admire all the beautiful art in the museums. Another must do is walking along Champs Elysees. When you are feeling tired after walking about the city, stop for dessert at the many cafes such as Angelina Cafe, Laduree and Pierre Herme.
