Breakfast in Vermont
Each morning you come down to a kitchen full of good Vermont home cooking. Most days we serve homemade quiche with coffee or tea.
Some of our more popular quiches are Spinach and Mushroom, Heirloom Asparagus with Ham and Mushrooms, Kale with Snow Peas or Zucchini with Corn and Red Bell Peppers. Of course, we will always ask your preference at the time you make your reservation.
During the fall, when the apples are ripe, we often have fresh squeezed apple cider. In the spring we often serve homemade pancakes drizzled with pure Vermont Maple Syrup.
A Full Breakfast is Included at Royalton Bed and Breakfast
What's for Breakfast?
We cook breakfast each morning using the freshest ingredients available.
During the growing season that may include ripe red tomatoes, freshly picked asparagus and aromatic basil from our garden folded into an omlet of eggs from our free range chickens.
We often serve bacon or our own homemade sausage but we cater to vegetarians and vegans as well.
We may serve gluten free quiche filled with mushrooms and spinach or oatmeal with fresh berries.
In the winter we thaw out the berries we picked the previous fall and serve them on stacks of pancakes.
Coffee and Breakfast on the Porch!
Coffee or Tea?
Each morning we will start a new pot of coffee or tea.
Pete's French Roast is our favorite coffee, how about you?
As for tea... we always have a wide variety from traditional black tea to green teas and herbal teas. The teapot will be filled with boiling water so choose your favorite kind of tea from the teabox.

Waterfall
The trail to the Waterfall
Walk out the old road, discontinued in 1840, between the stone walls to the edge of the bank and then follow it down to where you hear the rushing water. The waterfall is especially beautiful when the snows are melting or when there has been a heavy rainstorm.
It is a pleasant walk out to the waterfall. During the spring there are many flowers including Trilliums which are an endangered species. It is often damp along the path so mushrooms, ferns and horsetails can be found.
The trees are full of birds calling back and forth to each other. Pilliated Woodpeckers hammer on dead branches. You might even scare up a Ruffled Grouse.

Vermont Back Roads
Driving the Back Roads of Vermont
One day last summer I shot this photo on Back River Road just before Royalton Bed and Breakfast. The bright green leaves of summer quickly grow to fill the roadsides with a feeling of a lush rainforest.
Summer in Vermont is a wonderful time to visit antique shops, craft fairs, heritage festivals and much more and Royalton Bed and Breakfast, in central Vermont, is the perfect home base for exploring.
