Stay at one of the many popular tourist resorts or bring your tent or camper. Travel Wisconsin and explore some of the best attractions: like House of the Rock, Wisconsin Dells, Green Bay, Egg Harbor, Blue Mound State Park, Cave of the Mounds, Madison, and Milwaukee, just to name a few.

Explore the distinct seasons. Winter, there is plenty of snow to go cross country skiing or enjoy snowmobiling on one of the many trails in Northern Wisconsin. Devil's Head Resort is voted as one of the top 10 ski resorts in the Midwest by Skiing Magazine.

Summer is a pleasant time to soak up some sun on the many beaches.

Wisconsin History

Wisconsin is one of the twelve mid westerns states, which borders Lakes Superior and Lake Michigan (two of the five Great Lakes). In 2008, the state estimated 5.6 million residents.

Best known for the Green Bay Packers football team located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Green Bay Packers are the only team in the NFL that does not have an owner. It has been a publicly owned since Aug. 18, 1923, with an estimated 112,120 stockholders. The Packers were founded in 1919. They were named after a local meat processing plant. Games are held at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

Approximate 120 miles south of Lambeau Field, is Miller Park, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is the home of the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team. Originally a team from Seattle, Washington, known as the Seattle Pilots, played for one season in 1969 before being acquired in bankruptcy court by current MLB Commissioner Bud Selig. The team then moved to Milwaukee and renamed the Milwaukee in association with the city’s brewing industry.

The Beauty of Wisconsin Dells.

Discover the natural beauty of the rock formation on the Wisconsin Dells, located in the south-central region of the state. The Dells were formed by glacial melting that cut a channel as much as 150 deep through the sandstone. This carved unusual rock formations along a 15 mile stretch along the Wisconsin River. Take a peaceful Duck tour along this river and enjoy the sites.

Enjoy the many attractions around the Dells. Noah's Ark Waterpark is America's largest waterpark. Children of all ages can have fun at Noah's Ark. See Wisconsin Deer Park, Take a ride in a jet boat or play a round of golf.

Beautiful state! One of the greatest Green Bay Packers, Willie Wood, who is in the hall of fame, played at the junior college in my home town in 1957. He went on to be one of the first black quarterbacks in major college, at USC. He was gifted, and I was 8 years old and still have glimpses of watching the best player on the field at Coalinga College, now West Hills College.

The coach, Sam Volkes, had a pipeline of world class players in football and basketball that followed him from NYC, DC and Detroit to little Coalinga College. They were great athletes and players, including Willie Wood, Charlie North, Sylvester Blye, John Morgan and Peller Phillips.

Wisconsin is a gorgeous state. I spent my childhood there and still have relatives living there. Giving this a thumbs up by way of votes! Thanks for introducing the Dairy State to people unfamiliar with it.

I was in Wisconsin a few years ago. I recall doing some hiking and bicycling and going to Madison. We've talked about going to the Dells but haven't made it there yet. Maybe this summer!
