Come to the Gulf

Updated on September 22, 2014

Come to the Gulf - A Song

Here's song I wrote about the Gulf of Mexico - Written in November 2010 - This was after the Gulf oil spill and the months' long cleanup. While there may have been oil still in the sea, what I experienced was wonderful.

Come to the Gulf - A Song

Come to the Gulf and eat of the waters

It's good for our sons

And good for our daughters

Oil may have been here

But now it is gone

So come to the Gulf to breathe the sea air

Gulf of Mexico Fish and Shellfish

Second Verse and Chorus

Come to the Gulf and walk the white beaches

From the Gulf Coast of Texas

To the Florida reaches

Oil may have been here

But now it is gone

So come to the Gulf to breathe the sea air

Third Verse and Chorus

Come to the Gulf and sail on the tide

Whether for fishing

Or a sight-seeing ride

Oil may have been here

But now it is gone

So come to the Gulf to breathe the sea air

Fourth Verse and Chorus

Come to the Gulf to marry your sweetheart

On the beach near St. Pete's

For a new life to start

Oil may have been here

But now it is gone

So come to the Gulf to breathe the sea air

Final Verse and Chorus

Come to the Gulf and watch the black shapes

Of dolphins arcing across

The shimmering seascapes

Oil may have been here

But now it is gone

So come to the Gulf to breathe the sea air

Beautiful lyrics to celebrate the Gulf of Mexico and the beaches, parks and communities along its shores!
