If your coming from the north you will locate us about 35 miles from the Kentucky line near Albany. Fentress County is rich in history and scenery that is just waiting to be explored. Wow!!! I am so glad you asked that. While we are a small community, we have a lot to offer the nature lover in everyone. If you travel a couple miles in any direction from Jamestown, you will be greeted by some of the most beautiful sites you can lay your eyes on. For those of you who love to hike or ride horses, we have some of the best trails you could ask for. If your a fan of old buildings and rich history, oh yes we even have something for you. Alvin C York Grist Mill and Homeplace

- DESCRIPTION - This is the birthplace and state park dedicated to local World War I hero Sgt. Alvin C. York. The grist mill that once ran there has been preserved and is now open to visitors who would like to see a regular piece of history.
East Fork Stables

- DESCRIPTION - East Fork Stables offers themed trail rides and camping for the area. They opened the doors in 1994 and has been growing ever since. They offer barns, riding trails, corrals, and cabins. This is a perfect retreat for any horse lover or those just looking to get away for a while.

- DESCRIPTION - Located just outside Fentress County on state highway 52 east, this victorian settlement in morgan county still has 20 original buildings standing. You will find lodging, food, and history here as you take a step back into the 1880's

- DESCRIPTION - This is another dream for horse riders and outdoors people from all over the world. It is under new ownership, the Martin family bought True West in January 2011 and seem very eager to start their new adventure with you. The trails at this campground run through the Big South Fork National Park. If your up for breath taking scenery and a great outdoors adventure then this is the place for you.

During the fall our mountains turn a beautiful array of colors. If you love nature and love all the natural beauty that the Cumberland Plateau has to offer, then look no further than Fentress County. Starting around early to mid October the leaves begin to make their fall change and paint our country side with a picture that is worth a thousand words. We are not a huge town, just a bunch of kind people who enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.
