What Monki Did in France
One Summer Monki went on a trip to France.....
Monki lives in North Wales, UK and loves to travel around the world. He also loves to have his picture taken.
One summer he went on a trip to France. He travelled by car to Portsmouth to catch the ferry to Caen, Normandy where he was going to stay in a Eurocamp park. Most days he just loved to hang around the park, chilling and other days he went on sight seeing trips.

Monki the Traveller
By Car, By Boat and By Train...
The journey from North Wales to Paris involved car, boat (ferry) and train. Maps and travel guides were essential for finding my way around and I loved nothing better than taking in the scenery along the way.
I'm not keen on travelling by ferry, it makes me feel a bit sea-sick! I still do it though because I just love to be in France.
There are many ferry routes from the UK to France, depending on which area you wish to travel to. The most popular are Dover-Calais (by far the shortest and quickest), Portsmouth-Caen and Plymouth-Roscoff. On this trip, I travelled from Portsmouth to Caen, heading for my stay in Normandy. We took the "fast cat" ferry, which takes about 3.5 hours to reach its destination of Ouistreham port, Caen.

Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and Place de Clichy
No trip to France would be complete without a visit to Paris. I travelled by train from Lisieux to Paris which took about 3 hours. Then I set about seeing some of the famous sights such as the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and the infamous Place de Clichy... ooh la la!

Monki Chilling with Eurocamp
Everyone needs a relaxing place to go back to at the end of a day's travelling and sight seeing. Eurocamp sites have something for everyone. I personally like the quieter sites so that I can chill out with a bottle of vin rouge, some of my favourite chocolate and my fishing rod at the end of the day.
Monki Likes Quiet French Villages too
En route around France, I came across some pretty villages just perfect to stop for a break and some light refreshment. Such interesting architecture and detail on the buildings there and a warm welcome from everyone wherever I went.
