Updated on May 27, 2012

This hub is dedicated to aurorajade for requesting a hub on "how to increase followers on HubPages". Hope you enjoy it!

Have you ever wonder how those hubbers having more than 100, 500 or even more followers? Do you want to have as many as them? Well, I wished to have them too but I am still short of reaching the goal.

There are also many ways you can increase your fan club. However, there are a few basic rules you must follow in order to achieve and create a huge fan club. The most important task here is to create a huge and loyal fan club. Having fans is one thing while having loyal fans is a much more important task to accomplish.

Followers (fans) are important towards the success of a writer.

The 5 Basic Rules

Quality over quantity

First and foremost is to create quality hubs. This is indeed the most challenging task among all. Readers love to read quality articles. Instead of making short articles, plan ahead and be ready to put in more effort in them. For example, use Google and Yahoo for more precise answer and information before publishing the article.

Having a big number of articles does not help you in gaining followers. You can have 1,001 hubs but if they are all short and lack of information, you will lose your followers. Instead, focus on each subject or topic and try to 'modify' and update it for a few times before publishing it.

Being active in HubPages

Another method is being active in HubPages. Try to participate in forum and help out others as much as you can. Everyone starts as a newbie. Therefore, give a helping hand whenever you can. You could be a new member yesterday but if you have the information, feel free to share it with those who need it.

Being active does not only gives you a little acknowledgement with accolades but it also makes you 'visible' to the rest in the Internet world. For example, you can reply to questions or forum questions and if people find you helpful, they could follow you and at the same time, you will increase your traffic to your hubs! Well, this is definitely a win-win situation, don't you think so?

Never stop learning

There is no end for learning. You could well be over 50 but there are tons of thing to learn! If you want to be successful as a writer and create a big fan club, learn from the rest. You could read up what they have written and even the style of producing a good article. You never know as you might simply encounter a great tip that could change your writer's life forever. At the same time, do not forget to learn about keywords and tags as it mean a lot for a writer. Good usage of keywords and tags can easily determine the success of the writter.

Comments

As a writer, you will sometime face negative comments. Never let it bring you down ~ Never! If you received a negative comment, put on your thinking hat and learn from mistakes. Do not let it de-motivates you from writing. How about getting a good comment? Give yourself a nice tap on the back for well done. Celebrate it if you want but after that, it is back to business. Continue with your hard work and start to do research on why you had received such comment. Start improving your hubs with what you have found and I am sure you will not only create the traffic, you will increase your readership too!

Promoting and backlink

So now you have published a hub. Don't stop yet! Instead, start promoting via social networks and websites. Simply by doing so, you are increasing the chances of readership and at the same time, you are giving yourself a chance to promote the article and yourself. Readers who find your article interesting will definitely come back for more.
