Should we have a Animal Abuse database similar to the Sex Offender database?
A lot of animal abusers just move to a different county or state and start their 'dirty business' all over. Unless organizations and rescuers send out DNAs (Do Not Adopt messages) and at least some organizations/rescues read them.
Should it be mandatory for such abusers to register?
Consider this: It has been shown in studies that a lot of the high-school shooters had histories of animal cruelty. This is also true for some other crimes!
hey that's not a bad idea. it would be a good way to know whether its appropriate for a new neighbor to be anywhere near your pet or not.
It seems like a well intended idea, however another government list isn't going to make things any better.
"There's nothing that does so much harm as good intentions."-- Dr. Milton Friedman
WOW!! Great idea. Why has no one thought of that? I personally can't stand or understand animal cruelty, but it happens more than anyone realizes. Also more often than not it goes hand in hand with criminals or really messed up people that could do harm to others. You should take that idea and run with it!!
Yes, I like that idea, and we should add names before the acts of abuse become too violent.

And what should we expect ... but first ... what is abuse ... another worn out word with no parameters for definition ... how many time have folks been outraged by the government for taking kids out of environments that the government, without specific criteria, has deemed unsuitable and abusive...
