How to Turn A Picture into a Cartoon Photo

If you want to turn a picture of yourself into a cartoon photo you've come to the right place. I actually started this picture-into-cartoon article with a different intention. I was thinking I'd be showing you how to turn your picture into more of a Simpson's cartoon character. Instead I stumbled upon a cartoonize method that I liked a little better.

This method will cartoonize you in a similar style as the picture I have above. Yep, that's me. The author. The picture isn't very flattering and there are dots all over the image that I should have cleaned up, but it will give you an idea of what you are in for (is that what they call 'noise' or just my natural ugly coming through the screen? :-)

If you haven't already, sign up for a legitimate, free web picture hosting site.  For the sake of this article, I used Photobucket.  If you choose a different picture hosting/sharing site you might still be able to do the same thing I'm doing here using these instructions (with some variation of course).

Once you've signed up and signed in, upload a picture of yourself to the website. There should be a simple uploading tool provided by the picture hosting website.

Once you've uploaded your photo, find this picture in "Recent Uploads" or in the album where you stored your photo.

Click Edit (in Photobucket,  "Edit" is right above the photo)

Your picture will appear on the edit page. Click the "Effects" tab

Choose the "Cartoon" icon.  This obviously is the command to turn your photo into a cartoon.

It'll take a few moments but your picture will convert itself into a cartoon much in the same style as my photo above.
