   How to get inspiration for
   
   I'm trying my hand on beaded jewelry-making but I can't seem to find inspiration for a design. I see a lot of good concepts, theoretically, on my head but I can’t make it happen.

   There's really no easy way to go around that. I believe you just need a little bit more focus on things, colors that interest you. I think you need to de-clutter you creative mind once in a while to be able to get those creative juices flowing again. I myself hit that point and it would take me weeks before I get creative once more.

   Learn as many different techniques as possible, and play . I've been beading for going on 15 years now, and only in the past couple of years have I learned a couple of my favorite techniques (beaded micro-macrame and making faux gemstone polymer clay components). If you're having a bit of trouble getting kick-started, here is a book that does have a good process for it and that is designed to help you get in the habit of freestyle creativity:

   The author does focus on bead embroidery primarily for the little tutorials, but the process can be applied to really any craft. I've also gotten a lot of inspiration from looking at clothes and artwork from some of my favorite historical periods and adapting ideas from them into more contemporary pieces. Happy beading!

   A focal pendant or component always guides me along with what I want out of a finished piece.  I've also thumbed through a few beading mags to see some of their tutorials and a few pieces have inspired me from there, as well. 
   
   a trip to your craft store of choice is another great space for inspiration. 
   
   Bead & Button & Wire Work are 2 great magazines with all kinds of projects and details outlined for you. 
   
   Fire Mountain Gems & Beads has many pages of projects, ideas, and inspirations on their website too.
