A Dutch painter of still life and landscapes, he was also an engraver and sculptor. Abraham Van Calraet lived in the 17th -18th century and was born in Doldrecht, Holland. His paintings were for a long time attributed to Aelbert Cuyp. After much study experts have proven that Cuyp's signature was forged on many of Calraet's works. His works feature stunningly rendered horses and landscapes. He is also known for his still life, mainly of fruits.
