University of Colorado College Town

Boulder, Colorado is home to over 97,000 people in 2013 with young median age of 29.; and, according to Sperling's Best Places, 70% of the population is unmarried. Boulder supports employment for nearly 98,000 workers, some being commuters from Denver and its suburbs. Boulder is the target of ongoing community and business development through a long-term, 25-year development plan operated by city officials, who expect contined growth.

The population of the city grew gradually from 1890 to 1950, when it shot up geometrically from 1950 to 2009. Declining somewhat in 2010, the population began to grow thereafter. The city has grown as a suburb of Denver, a scant 28 miles away among other suburbs of Broomfield, Westminster, Littleton, Thornton, Lakewood, Aurora, Centennial, Englewood, and several others within the Route 400 and E-470 Outerbelt Route 36, The Denver-Boulder Turnpike runs Southeast to Broomfield, just 13 miles away and the location of a sizable portion of Boulder jobs.

SimplyHired.com reports that the change in numbers of jobs advertised in May 2012 compared to May 2013 in the Denver Area is a positive 45%.

In Mid-June 2013, over 68, 500 jobs were listed within 25 miles of the city center of Boulder. This is twice as many job istings as found the same period in 2009.
