Why Turn to a Qualified Coach or Coaching Service?

The fact is we all can use assistance with our projects and endeavors. The need for a qualified coach or good coaching service often surfaces whether you are deciding to make that career move or whether you are a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out.

Okay, so maybe you've been pushed into making a decision about starting a business or new career. It could be that you have been downsized, outsourced, laid off, offered early retirement or just acutely aware that what has happened to come of those around you could happen to you. Because of what you see, you prefer not to be vulnerable. You prefer to be in control of your career decisions.

Better yet, you have decided now is the best time to turn your passion for making oddities into a successful entrepreneurship.

You know who you are. Your ranks include teachers, professors, mechanics, factory workers, retailers, you name it. There are jobs lost or jobs threatened in big numbers across the country and throughout the global economic fabric. Even though the economy and jobs outlook is slowly improving, it still remains uncertain. In each of these scenarios, a coach or a coaching service can be a vital part of your new venture as a counter to the affects of economic uncertainty and eroding job security.

Rest assured, there are plenty of resources out there to help you become a successful entrepreneur or help you achieve success in your new career. A good coach or coaching service can be one of the most helpful resources you turn to.

How Do Most People Get Coached?

Coaches are your sounding board and they will keep you accountable, but let's look at ways most people starting out go about getting support or "coached:"

  • They turn to family. Well, family is often the source that will discourage you the most. Their mantra quite often is "get a real job that pays."
  • Friends don't fall far from family. Occasionally, the friend is truly in your corner and will be a sounding board, will support you in your endeavors and give really sound advice. If you have such a friend, count yourself lucky. But then, if you think about it, it's a heavy burden to lay on a family or a friend to ask them to give you advice in areas that they generally have no experience in.
  • The last is co-workers or former co-workers. Co-workers are rarely a viable sources of support. They have their own agendas. Overall, if you approach co-workers for support and advice about your business, you are usually, unfortunately, going to get "the crabs in a barrel" affect. They're miserable (usually) and hating their jobs and they want you right there with them, doing the same.

Don't Struggle Alone; A Qualified Coach Is a Viable Option

Whether you're an innovative entrepreneur in business for yourself or trying to create a successful career in your chosen field, you can do it alone, but is it prudent or expedient to do so? The fact is, you need others working with you, others working alongside you, others working behind you. Nowhere is "no man is an island" more applicable than for the entrepreneur. Finding a mentor or hiring a professional coach or coaching service is an excellent way to gain consistent and relevant feedback when growing a successful entrepreneurship, developing your brand, or even when developing a stable and lucrative career.

Just as "it takes a village to raise a child," it takes those same elements - support, nurturing, care and feeding - to build your "empire," your successful entrepreneurship.

Hiring a coach is one of the easiest ways to make a positive impact on the development and growth of your business. A professional coach will keep you focused, help you formulate and solidify your goals, and, most of all, keep you accountable.

Becoming an entrepreneur, creating a successful business or launching your career can be daunting and lonely. A good coach insures that you're not alone.

We say we want a business, but until you are focused, and I mean laser sharp focused, you will achieve mediocre success, at best. No one reading the article is looking for mediocrity; not in your own enterprise whether that enterprise is product or service oriented, not in your career, not in your freelance business. And those who have chosen writing as their enterprise? Make no mistake, unless you want to starve, this is your business. You, too, need coaching, need mentoring, maybe even more than others because writing is usually such a solitary endeavor.

Choosing a Coach or a Coaching Service

A qualified coach is in business to see that you succeed. A coach is knowledgeable in a variety of areas and, if there is a gap in that knowledge, a good coach at the coaching service of your choice will get the answers for you or point you in the right direction.

If you have the right coaching service, the coach can also connect you with other like minded entrepreneurs. There is power in interacting with others who think as you do, others who are also building their empires or powering up their careers. They are almost always a source of positive energy because it is generally the positive who step out and become successful entrepreneurs. They believe in themselves and their product or services.

Always remember, you define your success. The coach is in your corner to remind you of that definition so that you remain on track.

Effective coaching can be accessed one on one or in a group process. Often it is a combination of the two that is effective. Hearing the voices of others who may be experiencing the same issues or successes can be helpful in your ultimate success.

Conduct a diligent search and you will be able to find the right coaching fit for you. Ask friends or colleagues. Some coaching services operate online and via phone making it convenient for you to connect with skilled individuals in other parts of the country or even the world. You never have to leave your desk.

Whether your enterprise is focused on writing or catering, dentistry or fitness products, getting organized or interior decorating, having access to coaching services can make a difference.

Coaching and mentoring are not exclusive to men vs women or vice versa. Men and women benefit equally from using sounding board to test ideas and theories or to discuss challenges and successes.

So, in the end, you can become a successful entrepreneur or have a successful career. You can fulfill your dreams. After all, you're intelligent, you're industrious, you're determined. In fact, you have all those attributes that point to success, but why go at it alone? Why not enlist the support of others to help make your road to entrepreneurial success a bit easier, a bit smoother? Why not consider taking advantage of the skills offered by a qualified coach or a coaching service? Most important of all, why not make it a priority to seek the support that works best for you and your endeavors? The only result can be qualified coach or coaching service = the SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR: YOU!
