What kind of domain name has the strongest seo call? (structure of the domain name words)

Scenario:  A potential domain name has been chosen for a site.  Good search volume for the keywords in it, and not too much competition.  Example only: work from home ideas
Now what kind of domain name would have the strongest seo call, and which would be the second strongest etc, and why? (let's say, for eg, that the domain name workfromhomeideas.com is already taken).
What's available to register (in this pure example, not probably really):
    workfromhomeideas.net
    work-from-home-ideas.com
    workfromhome-ideas.com
    ideasworkfromhome.com
Reasons for your answers too, please - thanks!

You have to find a niche within the general work from home topic.  Anything that says work form home mom is more than likely going to be taken.  You have to think outside the box (sorta speak). What are things that are important to your target audience.  For example instead of going for work at home mom what about busy moms or busy women, or even more targeted modern mom or single moms.  These are all more targeted concepts and can still take you toward the bigger goal.  I'm sure that anyone of those category of women would be more than willing to learn about various work from home opportunities.

If this is the niche you are looking into, I hoped I helped. If not, there are many place on the web were you can search domain names, keywords and the like for availability and competition.

If you had to choose one of thse options it would be work-from-home-ideas.com.

    Reasons:

.net is weaker than a .com,
using hyphens is the same as spaces, when google parses the domain it will read the keyword you want,
when other use the url to link to you, the anchor text will be parsed to your keywords

So esentially, if your domain contains hyphens it is exactly the same as writing your keyword, if the keyword is online marketing then online-marketing is exactly the same in google's eyes, but onlinemarketing is seen as a diffent keyword.

Hyphenated keyword domain names are often associated with spammy websites by both users and search engines, and Google's Matt Cutts has gone on record saying that you should avoid domains with multiple hyphens for this reason.

None of those alternatives will come close to the exact match keyword .com. However, the "lesser evil" is probably to choose a well-respected alternate extension like .org or .net. This will still bring you some SEO benefit, but won't make your site look like spam.

Another good alternative IMO would be to add a short small text to the keyword in the .com, eg:
    WorkfromhomeideasHQ.com
    workfromhomeideas101.com
    etc...

    Good luck!
