Mannequin Monday- Another Hubnugget Roundup
It was a bright and lovely day.....
And I decided to go on a shopping spree to get a present for my mother, whose birthday was coming up. I waked into of of the Macy's crowded departments stores and headed over to the jewelry counter and thought of getting my mother a lovely brooch that I was sure she would love. I picked out a beautiful one shaped like a turtle. It really would not have been her style but this particular one had diamonds in the eyes and pearls on the shell. I thought she would love it, so I bought it for her.
Before I got into the elevator to check out another department, I was admiring the turtle, when I noticed that one of the diamonds was missing. Oh, no I thought, this will never do! I went straight back to the counter and told the lady I bought it from and she said I had to go up to the 4th floor and get a refund because it was the last one available. I got on the elevator and was so disappointed because I so wanted her to have it.
When the doors flew open, I walked right into an open space that seemed to be quite empty except for a clear glass jewelry case. Behind the counter was a woman that looked very familiar to me. I said, “Don't I know you from somewhere”? She smiled and said no. I said, “never mind”, and told her about the turtle with the missing diamond and she said, “ Here I have what you need,” and she pointed to the jewelry case. There was the turtle there to replace the broken one and she handed it to me. As I turned . to leave, I asked her why my turtle is the only thing in the whole department. I mean it struck me as very odd. She just smiled and told me to have a nice day.
I shook that strange feeling off and decided to do more shopping and tried to forget about the strange incident. After I finished shopping, I remembered that I needed my mother's brooch gift wrapped, so I decided to go back to the department where the strange lady was. When I got there the whole room was empty. I walked further int the room and I heard my name being called. Jane! Jane! I turned but no one was there, Jane! Jane! What is this I thought to myself, and started getting really spooked; when all of a sudden I walked into what looked like a warehouse looking room covered in mannequins.
I stood in the middle of the room frightened and kept hearing my name being called. OMG, could it be that the mannequins are talking to me? All of a sudden they all start moving and walking toward me. I start to scream and the mannequin that looks like the lady that sold me the brooch says to me not to be scared. She said to relax and I will remember what I needed to remember. I stood there and suddenly everything was coming back to me, I was remembering! The lady mannequin asked if I remembered,and I said, “Yes”! I’m I’m a mannequin, aren’t I? I’m a mannequin. Ah Jane everyone says, welcome back, we all were starting to worry about you when you didn't come back when you were supposed to. I said that I was sorry but I did forget, because once you are out in the real world, you become like everyone else. I forgot that we only have 30 days to be human and then we have to come back. I’m so sorry, But I was having ever so much fun! Oh how I wish I was human, Oh how I wish....
Meanwhile back at the hubnugget ranch....
Patty, Ripplemaker, KKG, Simone, Enelle and Redelf are all sitting around waiting for me to show up so we can decide on nominations for this weeks hubnuggets, when they decide to give me a call. I wake up with a start and pick up the phone. Its Patty on the line asking where I am. Yikes!, I totally overslept I tell her and boy did I have a doozy of a dream. I will tell you all about it when I get there. Okay Patty says and we all came up with a great gift idea for your mother's gift. We decided a turtle brooch with diamonds on it.....I stare off into space holding the phone in my hand...dodododododododo!!!
