Clarify please.
I just want to get this straight. Are we voting DOWN responses to questions, that are actually weak; or are we simply voting down answers we disagree with?
It states at the bottom of an answers page that you should vote up if an answer adds to the discussion, or vote it down if it does not. So that's the general position.
So it's really a judgement call for each individual. From what i've noticed answers tend to most often get voted down if they are innapproriate or in some way objectionable to others.
Sometimes the types of comments that you may disagree with can get more comments/answers coming in so you could argue they add to the discussion/answers (inadvertently at least). But i suppose this is a place primarily for answers per se rather than discussion as with forums hence you can only contribute once.
If it contributes in your opinion - Vote Up
If you think it would make no difference if it was deleted -Vote Down
I imagine a some people vote up whenever they agree regardless of what it necessarily adds to the answering of the question. We all like to think we're right after all (Mostly anyway)
You vote down answers of poor substance/quality or those that do not really answer the question asked.
We all can't possibly agree with each other.
For example, if I asked "What is your favorite color?" and you replied "Canada!". LOL.
It's the same for comments. If they are out of sync or illogical, vote them down.

Do you leave negative comments from readers on your articles?I delete spam but have left comments when a person doesn't agree with me. However, I have noticed I seem to be in the minority on this because when I've left a comment disagreeing with a person (this is not just on HubPages but on blogs...

Or do you only vote a hub down because it was poorly written, or contains erroneous information? What is your criteria?

Do you think if someone publishes a hub they should approve comments if they don't agree with answerAs long as they aren't swearing, combative or vulgar, or do you think people have the right to see both sides?

Almost a year ago I wrote an article and put it up on Helium (first and LAST time I would ever do that!). Because I had stupidly not read all of the fine print in the Helium user agreement I now cannot delete that article from their site in spite of the fact that I have no desire to be active there...

I feel that the voting system is flawed in the Q&A section."HubPages members may vote an Answer up or down depending on how well they feel it answers the question. Every Answer starts with a single up vote (by the author of the Answer)."I recently wrote an answer to an 'opinion'...
