Is it permissible to mark-up your own hub?

And mark it as awesome, beautiful and funny while you're at it?  I've just noticed that it would be feasible for me to do this, and I'm wondering why.  And if other people do this.

It is possible, and I do it all the time. Why? promoting my own articles is fun and it lets people see that someone has already liked the articles.

I don't know, but I'm curious too.  My own hub showed up when I was hopping.  I do know that someone just figured out you can "follow" yourself.

Um, I wasn't going to do this myself!  If you look at the information under my question I mentioned that it looks like HubPages would let me do this, and I was wondering why they have made this possible.

I don't get your studio and child painter analogy, with regard to my question.

*Sorry, this answer was directed at Shaisty-Chase-Tea, hadn't seen the other answers yet.  Thanks guys, if it's allowed then maybe I will do it!  Hadn't noticed before that we could.  I know it won't make too much difference, but it might make me feel good!  smile

re: LABrashear-I found my own hub once when I was hub hopping. I quickly  skipped past it. I would never rate my own hub up, down or any of the terms. As for why this is possible, I don't know. Since it is, there must be a reason for it to be allowed.

@ Shaisty-Chase-Tea ... huh? Ok... next time read the whole question! lol
If you had bothered to have a look at Moon Daisy's work you would see she is an exceptional writer.
And to answer your question Moon Daisy I have thought about it...and I'm sure you can...but I am not sure why they allow it because then everyone would do it which means that having 1 vote means nothing to other hubbers because they would think it was the authors' vote smile
That was the longest sentence ever. Sorry!

Disappointed at some of the responses here. Especially the gratuitous insult from @ Shaisty-Chase-Tea. Mark yourself down on that one please; everyone else is..

But for those who think it's a good idea, I have to ask, if you're so needy that you have to vote up your own work, why bother posting it at all?

Why not just sit at your screen and congratulate yourself in the privacy of your own home?

Promoting yourself is one thing. Believing your own publicity is something else entirely.

But either way, promotion isn't the same as deception.

As far as I'm concerned, rating yourself as anything other than 'willing to write and receive honest feedback' is self-delusional at best, dishonest at worst.

Why compromise your personal standards for a few little buttons?

I think it is possible since the buttons are there at the bottom of the hub but I don't really see the point in it. You post your work to get feedback from others so it is meant to be just that.
