Has anyone tried writing a blog for profit
Has anyone tried writing a blog for profit? I've seen websites like blogspot that give you the ability to make money off of advertisements but allowing you to write about anything you want to. It seems like blogs would get more of a steady following then just articles. Has anyone had any success with blogs?
The great thing about blogger is that there are not much in the way of rules, nothing in the way of moderators, and only you and Google Adsense TOS to consider.
When you do get a click - you get ALL the profit from it, but I'm truly not having much success with blogger or blogspot. I make most of my online money here.
But do use blogger - there are things we web scribblers have to say that are not meant to be hubs, and so they go really well on blogger - also, you can provide yourself a nice dofollow backlink with blogger back to here, or somewhere else whenever you want to - so long as you don't over do it with too many to the same site.
Yes I have a few blogs and websites and I make more money on those than I do here for sure. The good thing with blogging and hubbing is that you can use them both to backlink to each other and grow traffic.
Blogger is very easy to set up for a beginner. I would start with that and then if you like it get your own domain and do a wordpress blog (a lot more bells and whistles, but very customizable)
Yes, I started with websites and blogs before joining HubPages. I make more money on some of my own sites than I do on HubPages, but HubPages has such a great community of writers and can be used for linking back to your own sites, that I'm happy to continue spending time on HubPages. Also, do not assume that blogs would get more of a steady following than articles - it's hard work building up a following for your own blogs - much harder than it is on and within HubPages - fellow writers and your potential followers are all already here on HubPages and there's a greater chance that during their activities on HubPages that they will come across your hubs or HubPages profile, than they would your own site.
Yeah, blogs and blogspots often do better than community sites like this when it comes to money, albeit it is not near as interactive and/or fun. However, nothing compares to having your own (non-blog) website where you are in total control and even have the ability to place adverts to the exact X & Y coordinates of your choice, unlike any other automated setup and whatnot.

What sites exist that are free to use, that allow writers to create any content (like HP), where you can make money?

I set up a blog on blogger, the only adsense ads that show up are crap about blogs...I am not trying to get people to build a blog or learn to blog or visit blogs about obama....dammit I just want to get people interested in green products and home improvement products..lol

I recently read some reviews on Consumer Affairs, which were absolutely devasting and have got me a little worried. I was wondering if anyone else wrote at similar sites prior to HubPages and why they made the switch, and if they had thought about going back.

So far I've mostly been relying on writing good content and trusting people to find it, but after a spike this summer, my traffic here at HP has collapsed to some rather depressing levels, considering the number of hubs I have, and I've been thinking maybe it's time to start putting more effort...

So, quite recently some hubbers declared that they might venture out to create their independent, 100% 'all cash goes to the author's pocket' blogs using Blogger or WordPress. I just figured out, after checking some blogs on both those platforms, that they might face one little problem, it's...

Does anyone have more than 1 blog and are you making money with them?I have one blog now on blogger.com, and am using Google Adsense on it. I am toying with adding 2 more but don't know if the added blogs will bring in more money or just fragment my time. Anyone have any experience with multiple...
