This is real nice, but slightly peculiar. . .

I mean, I'm thrilled and all, but isn't it a bit odd that today, suddenly, out of the blue, 159 people would decide to read a hub about translations of Petrarch?

    WTF?

Somebody stumbled it? Look at your stats and check where traffic is coming from smile

Oh!  I never thought of that. . . yep, it was stumbled.  cool.  I'm still mystified that folk want to read obscure translations of an obscure sonnet on an obscure Sunday. . . .
      But thanks for the tip!

I had that happen once on something obscure---
Misha, I can't remember-- do we have to do something to post on stumbleupon? I think I did something once, but it never halped, except maybe for that once.  Is it worth the time?

I'm guessing it must be worth the time, although I don't know how this got stumbled upon

Well, depending on what you want smile
If you want numbers that will push your hubscore, su is great. If you want genuine readers - hardly any, but possible. If you want clicks on the ads - no. If you want backlinks - yes.

        Pick your preference smile

Oh, and to get there you need either to have somebody who will stumble your post, or to do this yourself.

Well Thanks!  I just hadn't realized Petrarch was such a big hit -- maybe I'll do a hub on Cardinal Bembo next!

I had to go back to the photo, as a friend was visiting HubPages, and she doesn't know me by the name T. McGurk, so said she couldn't find me anywhere!

stumble is random - you get nothing for days, then 400 peeps pile in within an hour, then nothing again. Still quite nice with the old arrows (-:

Stumbling's easy, just register or login, and get the Firefox toobar, and press the thumbs up button for stuff you like.

I had forgotten about the toolbar (I was getting too many toolbars at the top of my browser, so I hid some of them) Ha!  just stumbled Katherine Swynford!

And I posted yer link to this hub on piratesurfing.com.  When an article gets hot and starts to get lots of traffic, they call it pillaging.  Hope you get pillaged real soon!
