This is the first hub I've published on HubPages. When it is in edit form, it looks normal, but as soon as it is published, the formatting gets all weird (ex. a few words on one line, different line spacing). I've tried everything I know, including formatting it on my word processor and cutting and pasting it onto the capsule. The formatting always ends up weird. How do I fix that?
welcome to hubpages.First clarify this. Are you copying and pasting from your Computer or You are writing the hub directly? If it the first one you are doing there may be a chance of problem you are experiencing. Otherwise you try typing the hub directly and save.
All the best.
It appears that the "hard" line breaks are transferring from your word processor document to your hub page. I do this with MS Word and haven't had this problem with Hubpages, but have had this happen on other sites.
One thing I've done on some other sites is to save the document (once it's spell checked, etc.) as a plain text document (*.txt) - that strips out most of the fancy formatting. Open the plain text document (I use notepad) and then copy and paste the content into the page (Hubpages in this case). Usually seems to work - you might give that a try.
Excellent advice Starfishfelix, that is the solution.

Hi fellow hubbers! Is anyone having a problem accepting comments, or editing hubs? I am. I am stuck in edit mode on one hub, can't get out, can't edit. Help!

Do you have trouble formatting text in the text capsule of your hubs?I don't know if it's just me but this has been an ongoing problem for me since I joined HP. I prefer to type my work out in a word document and then copy-paste but sometimes the format is ruined. Usually, my spacing is...

Do you write your hub in word processor first or directly in the hub?

I paint and I have noticed that my paintings have been criticized by people who have never held a paint brush. I guess I need thicker skin but one day I sat a young protégé down and I said, "Do better!!' To which she respond she could not do worse. The next day she came over and I...
