This one is for the users of my Forum Filter add-on for Firefox!

As you may know, version 4 of Firefox is coming soon. You may not know that this new version of FF encompasses significant changes behind the scenes, and just about every add-on publisher needs to do some work to ensure that their add-ons will work with the new version.

Since I'll be working on the add-on to make it v4 compliant, now seems like a good time to ask my users if they have any suggestions for new and/or improved features for the Forum Filter!

(And BTW, if you plan to upgrade to Firefox 4, be aware that the current version of the Forum Filter WILL NOT WORK with that browser! I'll post on my profile and here on the forum when the v4 compatible Forum Filter is available - probably before the end of this month.)

Is there anything you would like to see in the next version of the add-on?

No promises, but I will take all suggestions into consideration...

Your suggested feature is in the works! In the meantime, you inspired me to add the ability to block individual threads - mostly because the coding for that was easier wink

I have blocked Religion and Politics forums. Even though I can't see them, when someone starts a new thread in one of those, can you have the add-on make a nice sound....like BANG? Or maybe it can play a snippet of a song, like "another one bites the dust" smile

If I did that, you would have to put your computer on "mute" or the constant barrage of noise would drive you crazy :lol

        lol

I just installed both. I like the new FF, it's rather speedy.
I dressed up with a new spring persona and now I have the new updated filter. It already had those forums blocked for me, nice.

I like the option to block certain threads we may be tired of seeing. Thanks again Edweirdo!! big_smile

Yes! Or maybe a nice message saying something like

"You have just avoided another encounter with a moron!"

Compliance is really my main request as I've been using Firefox 4 for a while now smile

I wish I had access to my old computer.  I'm on someone else's and can't install the handy plugin. Dang.

Wow this is just what I have been hoping for! Thank you so much! I no longer have to wade through the constant dead horses strewn about by religious and political topics. I really have become tired of seeing the never ending stream of "If you believe in this way you are an idiot" or "Your politician of choice is an idiot so you are too" threads. You are my hero Edweirdo!
