Is learning something tough to do for you, or does it come easy?

Please explain how it works for you when it comes to learning anything, you can draw from experiences or actual things learned at any given moment.

Unlearning something is much harder, especially when you have to shed old conditioning. Learning something new should be an enjoyable and somewhat challenging experience.Nevertheless, if I am passionate about what I am learning, then I tend to retain more information, and learn easily.

Learning should always be fun, and if it isn't , then you are not learning smile

By keeping out mind fresh like children's ,in a receptive way, we shall learn anything which comes across in our life. All types of modern electronic gadgets like mobile phone, i pad, i pod, etc., are examples , which induces the curiosity in us , like children's , makes us to learn the features and its applications. Other than that, the society demands updating of individual , makes us learn. So, it is how you respond to the learning process and to express yourselves to this world , how much you learned any new thing, and what depth you know about that.

Depending on what I am learning, some stuff comes naturally, while other stuff not so much! I think everyone is on page with that. Depending on your natural (unlearned) gifts, they will effect your ability to learn new things. If a person is naturally good at balance, learning to skateboard will come easier then someone, like me for example, who has trouble with balance.

Normally things come very easily for me. However, right now I am building my own website and learning the GoDaddy website builder and I am struggling. My computer skills are limited and what I have learned is mainly from my fellow Hubbers here.

I love learning new things but I want to be quick and the website builder is complicated from the various apps to the design elements - it is all very challening.

I believe that you learn something new every day. Thus learning would come easy.

Sometimes it is easy and sometimes it is difficult. If we already have "stuff" up in our grey matter that associates/relates to this "new" learning it will indeed be easier to learn. However, if it is something entirely new (perhaps a foreign language that is significantly diferent then your native language) then indeed it will be a significant struggle to master. Thus, reading and more reading will enhance your ability to learn new material...

Learning something new can be tough for me especially if it involves anything technical. I literally learn by "pressing all the buttons and clicking on anything" to see what happens. I built my website via Vistprint without a clue as to what I was doing. It came out ok but it's missing stuff that would probably make it better. Same with my facebook business page, just went in there blind and did it.

I think the best learning comes from being blind, so to speak, and finding our way. The problem is I forget to write down how I got there and which buttons I pressed. :-) I'm convinced that God has a hand in it.

I have a hard time learning by reading or the basic way you'd learn from public school, but I have an easy time learning with my hands. An example would be that in high school I would be in honors but sometimes I'd spend hours on homework that others could finish in under one hour, but when I went to Hair School after high school was out for the day, I could learn a haircut in under an hour.

Depends on the subject and interest or pressing need, am in +60 age group as such am a bit slow in uptake compared to Z gen. However the trial and error always works.

I think that if you're self-motivated, learning is much easier. Now, it depends on each person. Some have photographic memory and everything it's easy for them.

In the first year of college my dad told me a joke: "If you ask a student how much time he needs to learn an entire dictionary, it will ask you when the exam starts".

So it depends on your motivation, the age is also important - we can't compare a student used to assimilate the information, with a 30-year-old going back to school.

For me, learning is easy if I am trying to learn something that I am interested in. Otherwise, it's pretty hard smile

Learning to me occurs  either spontaneously or passively, depending on the subject. If the subject is interesting to me, then it is effortless and will combine both..but if it is a complex subject, then i will either procrastinate or seek assistance from one who has a better grasp of the subject.

Not at all... We have the schoolbag learning and learning for life. When we say schoolbag learning, it has something to do with the academics. On the other hand, learning for life is base from life experiences where we commit mistakes and learn from it.
In my opinion, learning is not so hard to do. In fact, it is very easy. It is about how we handle our life in spite of things, good or bad, around us.

Actually, I'd say it depends on what I am learning but in most cases, I am a fast learner and learning things become quite easy for me.

The problem I have is in finishing whatever I am learning. Most times, some other (new) thing might catch my eyes and before you know it, I am  abandoning what I was previously learning for that new thing that just caught my fancy.

I understand. I have many "hobbies" and as many unfinished projects as hobbies because some new thing had caught my attention. I do go back and finish some of the projects but there is always something new to learn
