What criteria do HP team use for blocking?

I have been blocked from posting for 3 days, without any explanation of what I have done wrong.  So how can I learn?

You could've posted something that someone took offense to, and reported you to the Powers That Be.

This just recently happened to me too, but it was 24 hours. According to what it said, time could increase with each additional banning. I was never told specifically what it was for, but I can only assume it was because I told someone in a forum that they were arrogant and dismissive. This person responded back quoting these lines and referring to them as "personal attacks". I thought of them more as observations, water is wet, the sky is blue, and this guy is arrogant and dismissive.

I'm surprised by the 3 days. Was this the first time you've been banned from posting comments? I'm also a bit surprised that you, jonny, have been blocked. I've read quite a few conversations that you were a part of and you've always been respectful of others in everything I saw.

Thanks Headly.  It is the first.  But as you know it takes a lot to offend me - and I sure was,  so no remorse.  Thanks for your compliments.

Oh my!  What is the world coming to when Jonnycomelately and HeadlyvonNoggin get banned?  Of all the people that could be.....  What can I say except that you certainly had this coming! Just kidding smile

From what I learned from another example where I didn't understand, it seems you can't say that anyone IS this or that, you have to be describing the behavior itself.  If it can be seen as an attack on the person, calling THEM a name or something, other than their behavior.  I don't see you guys doing that either though.

All I can say is that I hope you have learned your lessons.... Oops, I mean I hope that others can learn from you guys on how to make good points while not needing to resort to a lot of the stuff we often see.  Sorry you got banned. See you back soon though.

Not to be a troublemaker or anything, but this is a site for writers, right? What is a writer if not opinionated and prone to making observations about things and people? Seems merky territory when you try to define what people are allowed to say.

I was so angry at a person who accused me falsly in public.  That person hides behind anonimity, which rightly or wrongly I see as cowardice.  Without the latter I can tolerate the accusations because I respect opposite points of view to my own.

Headly, I agree, and just hoped my sarcastic comments (where they were sarcastic) were taken that way.  I certainly am not telling anyone how to post, but sharing how I think they view posts they consider for banning, though I could be wrong.

Don't feel too bad, Jonny, I have been permanently banned from the forums. Moderation here is the worst I've ever seen and you will not learn anything from the ban because the mod team has no idea what they're doing, they simply react to the report button, the insane believers here know it and take advantage of it whenever they can.

You didn't do anything wrong Jonny, you're just another victim of the idiots running this site. I mean, look at some of the other bad decisions the staff here have made and then tell me they know what they're doing.

It is the insane who are in control here. smile

Purely for the record, a person tried to connect me being a-theist to therefore say that I supported bestiality and infanticide.  You can imagine my reaction!  That reaction (my words then) was why I got banned.

It seems I can comment here at least.  Thanks for your support folks.  Keep smiling and sharing.

Jonny, I am sorry you were falsely accused, and I would feel the same way esp if they were one of the anonymous ones.  At the risk of sounding harsh, it seems the cowardly route to go, imo.  People sure do just say lots of stuff, don't they?
