Two Cents on Hubpages Ads Yesterday?

I just checked my earnings panel, and I was quite surprised to see that my earnings from yesterday were 2 cents. They have been in the range of 20 cents to about 75 cents a day. Yesterday was actually a fairly high traffic day for me, and that doesn't make sense.

Any idea why it would be that low, especially on a higher traffic day (for me.)

And I also had a lot of referral traffic, through some of my trackers. Are those impressions counted, in any way? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks, Brian. That's great advice. I was curious, because I like to understand everything, but I won't let it get me down. You are right, fretting does not help!

None of us knows everything, what you mean is your impatient for success. This takes time just like any other profession, look on it like an apprenticeship. Even when you have "qualified" there is still so much more to learn. Enjoy the journey and don't be so hard on yourself.

Brian, that is good advice, and encouraging. Thanks. I just want to soak up as much knowledge as I can, to be able to do the best that I can. I am in school right now, learning from whatever source I can!

What is a higher traffic day? 1000 views?

No, I am nowhere near those kind of numbers. Yesterday, I had about 175 views, or so. But with that number of views, I would usually have at 25 cents or so. I was just surprised to see the 2 cent number. I had not seen that low of an number since I started with the Hubpages program, and was wondering why it would have gone that low.

It depends on your CPM and that changes daily. Was that really low yesterday too?

You're right, Izzy.  I just checked my CPM from yesterday, and it was very low. Usually, it's quite high. What could have caused it to be so slow yesterday?  I don't really understand why CPM would vary from day to day. I guess it depends which ads are chosen to go on our hubs, and how much those cost the advertisers. I don't know why it would suddenly go down, but hopefully, it's just a one-day thing. Thanks!

I do not bother with the adds, at all.

I think hubads has the occasional glitchy day.  Sometimes a very low day is followed by a very high one, like they are evening things out as they go.

Hi Prairie, yes that's quite unusual considering HP Ads had just introduced a major HP Ads campaign six days ago

    http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/76957

My own CPM has been going up from the low $2 to $4+.  My traffic this month is much lower than last month so my HP Ads earnings are down too.  But with the major HP Ads campaign that started six days ago, I'm seeing my HP Ads earnings increase.  Hmmm.. 2 cents with 175 views is very strange indeed.  I hope tomorrow is better for you.

Right, Rosie. I was thinking about that new ad campaign, too, and was quite excited about it. To see the two cents, it truly surprised me. Thanks!

That's good that your CPM has been going up. That does sound promising for you.

I was wondering if there was something wrong with the HP ad program too as I have not received anything for the past few days. This happened before and turns out there was a glitch that had to be fixed. I hope it is a glitch and that I'm really not making 0 cents a day.

Cari you are not on your own. I have had no HP earnings posted since the 16th! HP used to notify us that there was a 'technical problem' but I have seen no notifications as yet.
@prairieprincess I would also be disappointed with 2cents for so many impressions.  I think that HP should be more transparent about where our impressions are coming from?

Sometimes there is a delay in earnings showing properly in adsense, however i think most get days where earnings are low and sometimes high.. sometimes my daily earnings are over 7 dollars and some just 50 cents or less..
