Revolution Cast and Characters - Who Knows Why the Lights Went Out?
Revolution is a new TV show coming to NBC on the 17th of September 2012.
It is very highly anticipated and people are looking all over the internet for more information on who exactly is in this new fantasy show.
There will be a few faces that you recognize from other popular TV series. However, I feel it's only fair to warn you that many of the Revolution cast and characters are unlikely to make it to the end of the TV series. It looks like it's going to be one of those drama type shows where there will be lots of intrigue and unanswered questions and also deaths, on the path to finding answers.
When a new TV series, like Revolution, hits our screens it can be hit or miss. If you think back to the likes of Falling Skies and Terra Nova. These were two sci-fi/fantasy shows that were expected to pull in big audiences.
Terra Nova failed to be renewed as it was too expensive and wasn't financially profitable enough for the network to continue filming it. Season 3 of Falling Skies has already been agreed and is due to air in the summer of 2013. Hopefully, the Revolution cast won't have to face the axe after only one season.
Revolution Cast and Characters
Ben Matheson
Tim Guinee plays Ben Matheson.
Tim Guinee is a pivotal Revolution cast member as Ben Matheson is at the centre of an important secret.
He knew the blackout would happen before it actually happened. He had time to download some information off his laptop before the world went black. He also tried to warn his brother Miles, but there wasn't really enough time to explain everything.
Skip forward 15 years after the blackout and Ben has been tracked down by the militia. They believe he has information about the blackout and want to take him away for questioning.
Ben keeps a usb stick hidden inside a necklace until one day when he gives it to his friend Aaron.
Ben Matheson is shot before the militia can get the answers they were looking for.
He orders his daughter, Charlie, to find her Uncle Miles to help her with the militia and to bring the family back together.
Tim Guinee
Tim Guinee pops up all over the place on TV. Most recently he played a Doctor in Weeds that wasn't interested in buying pharmaceuticals from Nancy Botwin until she seduced him. He was also in Perception, but his most recent re-occurring role was as a stay at home dad that was also a part time investigator in The Good Wife. He seems to like legal dramas of late and was also in Damages as a new member of Patty Hewes firm.
Danny Matheson
When Danny finds out the militia have come to take his father, he steps in and makes the situation worse. His father is shot in the process and Danny is taken hostage instead.
Danny doesn't know why the militia were after his father. He has no idea that his father had information in relation to the blackout or why the militia wanted to talk with him.
Danny also has severe asthma attacks and in a world with little or no medicine this is very dangerous and life threatening.
Graham Rogers
Is very new to the world of acting and Hollywood. He appeared in a single episode of Memphis Beat.
Charlie Matheson
Charlie Matheson hears a gun shot and comes running to see what happened. When she arrives, she finds her father bleeding out on the ground and discovers the militia have taken her brother hostage.
Ben tells her to go find her Uncle Miles in Chicago. Charlie leaves her home with her friend Maggi and her father's friend Aaron. On the way, they meet a young man who is very handy with an archery set.
When Charlie finds her Uncle, she quickly discover there's more to the story than meets the eye. She finds out her parents may have kept secrets from her and her brother.
Think of Charlie as Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games.
Tracy Spiridakos
Recently played Brynn McLean in Being Human and appeared in Hellcats.
Miles Matheson
Miles Matheson receives a call from his brother Ben and is told everyhing is about to switch off forever. He has no clue what Ben is talking about and the connection breaks up.
Miles is stranded on the highway when all the electricity cuts out.
After the blackout, Charlie finds her Uncle Miles working behind a bar. To begin with he's not very helpful and is unwilling to help his niece. However, events come to pass that make him feel that he should help her and perhaps get some answers along the way.
Mile Matheson also has some really cool ninja moves and is handy with a sword. He has a military background which will be very helpful in the lawless world they find themselves in.
Miles Matheson could easily become a fan favorite and may grow to become your favorite Revolution character.
Billy Burke
Has had a long career on the screen. Most recently played Bella's father in The Twilight Saga. He's also had roles in 24, Law and Order, The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles.
Rachel Matheson
Rachel Matheson is the wife of Ben Matheson and mother of Danny and Charlie Matheson.
Originally, the role of Rachel Matheson was portrayed by Andrea Roth, who you might recognize from her role as the crazy Catherine Martin from Ringer.
Elizabeth Mitchell
Elizabeth Mitchell is most recognizable as her role as Erica Evans from V, where she was trying to secretly bring the aliens down. Before that, she played Juliet Burke in Lost and a doctor on ER.
Captain Tom Neville
Captain Tom Neville is with the militia of the Monroe Republic and is sent to retrieve Ben Matheson. He decides to take Danny instead when the operation goes south.
Before the blackout he was an insurance adjuster. He is highly organized and can tell when someone is lying. He looks for the facts, and minimizes emotion.
Giancarlo Esposito
Giancarlo Esposito is normally able to choose very memorable characters. None more so than his role as Gustavo Fring on Breaking Bad, where he was a drug lord that hid behind the facade of a fast food restaurant chain, until he was blown up by a wheelchair rigged with explosives. He also had a dual role on Once Upone a Time as the Magic Mirror the evil Queen spoke to and as the human version, Sidney Glass. Pretty good accomplishments when you consider one of his first major roles was on Sesame Street.
Nate Walker
Nate Walker is a member of the militia. He has the tattoo to prove it and is able to make Charlie trust him.
Nate uses Charlie to find her Uncle Miles. He makes her believe that he is there to help her, until Miles proves where Nate's loyalties really lie.
J.D. Pardo
He was in the 2nd installment of the Twilight saga and has been in many teen shows such as The OC and 90210.
Aaron
Aaron is an old friend of Ben Matheson. Before Ben dies, he gives his secret necklace pendant to Aaron and tells him to tell no-one about it and to keep it safe.
It makes sense that Ben would give it to Aaron, since he was a computer genius before the blackout and also a highly trusted friend. Arron used to work for a company called Google before the blackout. He was married and had over $80 million in the bank. Of course that counts for nothing now. He even had a private plane. He'd trade all of that money for some toilet paper.
Zach Orth
Zack Orth has most reently appeared in Vamps, the pilot of NYC 22, 30 Rock and Fringe.
General Monroe AKA Bass
Bass was actually the person in the car with Miles when the lights went out. He heard the conversation Miles had with his brother Ben and is how the militia knew that Ben knew something about why the lights went out.
Bass and Miles were previously friends in the military. Something clearly happened between them to change this.
Bass is now known as General Monroe of the Monroe Republic.
Monroe also thinks Miles knows more than he's letting on, but has been unable to find him over the years. Danny will be used as bait to draw the Matheson family to him and to gain the answers he is seeking.
David Lyons
David Lyons looked familiar to me and it suddenly clicked. He was The Cape, otherwise known as Vince Faraday. He was also in the TV series Sea Patrol and another veteran of ER.
Grace
Grace has an unexpected visit from Captain Neville of the Monroe Repulic militia. After he leaves, she takes out her necklace pendant, which is exactly like the one Ben had.
Grace goes into the basement and turns on her computer, using the usb stick in the pendant. She tells someone that the militia were at her house, but they didn't find it. Both of them what to do now. We can only assume they meant the pendant.
Maria Howell
Maria Howell is set to be in the Hunger Games: Catching Fire as Seeder next year. Previously she's been in The Vampire Diaries, Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. However, her career span is a lot longer than that as she had an uncredited role in the church choir in The Color Purple.
Maggie
Maggie is a close friend of Charlie's father. When Ben Matheson is shot and Danny is kidnapped, Maggies goes with Charlie to find her Uncle.
Maggie is very sensible and tries to explain to Charlie that she can't trust strangers that they meet on the journey. Maggie is also the village doctor and uses plants and herbs to nurse people back to health. However, she's not totally defenseless as she knows how to use these same plants and herbs to kill when necessary.
Anna Lise Phillips
Anna Lise Phillips is Australian and appeared in Terra Nova, Crownies and Home and Away.
